PS, im terrified to drill my truck as there is no going back once holes are made.
any tips on what to avoid? my idea is to install everything, then drill the holes once its all in place.

so it looks like i am missing ALL bolts from this kit.
I am also missing nay rubber bushings as the rubber i have is strip seals(there is quite a bit of that)
i also will need a new passenger side glass piece for the windshield as my dumb ass broke the one that came with the soft top when...
should i replace the adhesive gaskets that are under the windshield?
the ones on mine seem a bit... old.

I purchased a slant back kit to install on my 998, and am wondering what those who have "been there, done that" would recommend if they had to do it all over again.

door came with the pin and all thats needed to mount to the vehicle. the part i do need is the latch that is bolted to the vehicle and the door mechanism clips on to to keep the door closed.
are those the strikers?

i have the part that holds the pin. its just the actual pin that goes on the door and the frame holding the two together thats missing.
below is whats on my vehicle. the seller of the doors says all i need are pins.
or would having the below on my truck mean i need the strikers and other items...
thank you for the information. i do have quite a bit to learn before i dig into the half shaft, short of finding a step by step tutorial on the swap.
as for the tailgate, i did remove the 2 clips that hold it in place, the hinge is what is seized.
one more item found to be in need of repair is the rear tailgate. its rusted in place. i dont want to force it or it may bend where it should not.
i soaked it in penetrating oil. any other tips to get that free?
well, im just a bit slow, my brother in law just showed me how to use the headlights. it was indeed locked out with the lock switch. that just needs to be lifted a little and the other switch moves to allow headlights to be on.
the blinkers were a bit odd as they were constant not blinking...
roger that. i will take a look at the above. and avoid removing bulbs when the lights are in the ON position
is there a manual explaining the operation of all the switches? i would hate to assume its on while debugging it when its not.
