"Size Matters", go with the 5 ton. Put on some 1600x20's. My wife is only 5 feet tall and can't reach the step to get in so she stays home. Life is good.:driver:
EZ, not to get away from where this thread is going, but I see you tried polishing your original lights. All my lights were very dull, we wet sanded our lights with 2000 grit paper and then polished them. Lenses look brand new and are brighter. Just a cheap option to replacement.
Good looking ride. Is the body original? I see the rear panel looks original, body looks like new. Don't see many of the stamped rear panels around here.
Lots of 10 tons around my area, nothing that looks that good. Guess if I had some armor to load and move it would be worth having those big rear winches.
Welcome wingnut. You shouldnt have any trouble finding one on this site. I've seen a few on ebay in the past. Alot cheaper to build you one like that than to buy one like that. At least thats the case for me, poor in the toy fund department. Good luck with your search.
Apparently thats a concept vehicle from AM General. Found a little info here and there about it. I included a link to one of pages.

Maddawg I think I have some before pics on my member page. I'll try to put some more on soon. Also have 11 - 11:00x20 wheels and tires, brand new bows and troop cover and assorted parts for sale if anyone is interested or close to southern North Carolina.
Hulk those are LED warning lights. End use of this truck will be a firetruck. Just can't paint it red. Those lights you see will have the bezels painted OD green along with the additiional equipment that will be mounted over the next couple of weeks. We are painting it all green with subdued...
Our M54 complete and ready to have pump and tank installed. Lot of work for a couple of guys but happy with end results. New OD paint, tires, top, winch and seats. Couple of pics included to see what you guys think of it.
Rock and Roll, I just put a winch on a M54. Had a little trouble with with clutch lever also. I had mine on the floor for a while and just kept it sprayed down with penetrating oil. Once on the truck it was free to move a little. The drum lock was also froze up. You can remove the handle and the...
I just painted a 5 ton with 2 gallons of paint from Milspray.com. Thier engineer says you can paint a HMMWV with just 1 gallon. Its one part paint, easy to use and clean up and looks real good with little prep work. I had paint left over after I painted the outside, inside and underneath. You...
Update on M54
New singles came in today with a refurbed HEMTT on the trailer. Tried to get the driver to let me take it out for a spin since he can't unload til Tuesday. Said he would leave it with me if I give him a check for 240K. It would not due for me to be a millionaire, I'd be posting...
AMGeneral it is a Mack 673. Thanks for the comments. Its been going a little slower than we thought but its going. New wheels and tire should be here next week. I'll post an update when we get it all together.
No.2 its olive drab from Milspray. Nice one part paint. Straight out of the can and into the gun. No mixing or cutting. Its the same as CARC paint without the part 2 of CARC.
Well we finally painted our 5 ton. After wheel seal and winch installation we ran out of time to do body work and decided to take care of surface rust and fix the bad spots later. The truck has to leave for the shop next week for tank and pump installation. New wheels and tires should be here...
Anyone know where I can pick up the linkage for winch control on M54? I have the shift handle and arm on pto. I need everything in between. The rods and yokes and mount for it. I can order the rods and yokes and make the rest if I need to, but would like to find it all complete. Thanks. Included...
I just put one together last Friday. I got everything I needed at my local Fastenal store. Had to buy grade nine stuff, not to cheap. My local Lowes had most of the bolts, just not enough of them. As for being unique, not the case with mine. All standard size and thread.
It looks like the military's new "Buffalo". The 23-ton Buffalo is the most recent piece of equipment Operation Iraqi Freedom solders have to defeat improvised explosive devices. It is a heavily-armored vehicle designed for route clearance, giving patrols a closer look at suspected improvised...
