I can hear the Starter relay under the dash clicking, but nothing from the starter it self. the new battery shows 12.4 and the back battery also shows 12.4

they are the original issue batterys, I was thinking about just replacing them. think this is a good idea? the way that I read the Wiki thread is they would just be normal batterys

84 M1009 - My generator 2 light has not come on in a while - when I was on the expressway goming home from work the generator 1 light came on and the headlights went out and windshield wipers quite working. 84 CUCV - my rear drive shaft has lost some metal right by the u joint. how bad does that have to be to mess it up. and if it is destroyed can I use a 92 Surburbans drive shaft thanks

im sorry for the stupid question, but on CUCV - is the starter underneath and to the right side of the truck. truck wont start, no clicking, so I got underneath and started to hit what I thought was the starter with no luck.

autozone does not have the starter relay. any thoughts on where to get it?

all lights are coming on. voltmeter hasnt worked since I got it. do you think I should start with the relay? how do you tell if it is the relay or the starter itself?

there is no noise at all when you turn the key. any major issues with replacing starter relay? how much do they usually sell for?
