I love my 93 Cummins truck, it pulls good and sips fuel, BUT the 78 440 truck it replaced would run CIRCLES around it. Mind you it barely got 12MPG. Although it was quite entertaining going thru an intersection sideways in a 5500lb pig truck. I will always miss her.
If your primary motivation is mileage, go with the 4bta. The M880 frame/suspension/drivetrain will handle it no sweat and you should be looking at anywhere from 25mpg up. And forget about mileage until you get an overdrive tranny in it or change to around 3.00 gearing instead of the 4.10's. I've...
Check out MTP find them by searching mopar truck parts and Dodge Connection truck parts. These cats are little red express gurus. They can probbly help you out.
The fuel pacer is a product of the 70's. It was found on optioned out mopar vehicles. It was just a vacuum sensor that turned on a idiot lite or the left fender top signal lite. Its purpose was to sense low manifold vacuum which translated to excessive throttle which translated to wasted gas...
They're just little nylon bushings. You can still get them at the dealer, or Saturn Surplus or Ebay. they're the same on nearly all Mopar products just about forever.
Hi, hope someone can help. I'm looking for a pair of NOS M880 Shoulder Belt/retractor assemblies. I've managed to find the inboard belts that come thru the seat, but these ones are prooving to be a PIA. Saturn doesn't have them, and I'm looking to the board for help!. There is a guy on ebay goes...
My M882 has a CUCV grill gaurd on it. the installation is kind of shoddy, but it doesn't look too out of place. I'm going to try to mod it so it fits the Dodge lines a bit better. The middle of it even looks as if it was designed with a winch in mind. BOB H, there was an interesting looking one...
The only way you use the 360 intake is if you also use 360 heads. The 360 intake has larger ports that when put against the small ports of the 318 head makes the engine inefficient. The thing that really screws up the M880 is the 4.10 gear and lack of overdrive. The Ford and Chev mentioned...
Just get a normal step bumper from a same era dodge . Not because the M bumper is worth anything(unless its not swollen or twisted which is very rare) but because its gotta be a whole lot less grief.
I was rummaging thru old posts and found a diagram for M880 desrt Cammo. I like the look of it, BUT,,,,, What would be the chances of finding a tan cargo cover?
I have one with 265's on it but its in the back of the barn basement. I'll see if I can get a decent pic. To illustrate the safety concern I have look at the spare in the back of Gunner's truck. Air goes out, tire comes off. Take it from a old demo derby guy and 21 year fleet mechanic- safety...
I know our trucks came with 16.5's but be careful because they can bite you. Any 16.5 rims I have ever seen do not have safety beads. This is a small bead rolled into the rim about 1/2" back from the tire bead. This keeps the tire on the rim in case of deflation or underinflation. 16's all have...
