    xm389 trailer (1 ton trailer for m37)

This morning I was looking through a 1979 list of MVPA member owned vehicles and noticed a gentleman in El Paso, Texas had a 1957 xm389 "Hawk Missile Trailer", S/N 4. Looking again at the dataplate on our trailer the contract number on it can be found in a 1960s Defense Appropriations Hearing...

April 27 & 28, 2019: MTA Military Vehicle Show & Swap Meet (Augusta, NJ)

Does anyone going to the show have any Gama Goat parts for sale? Looking for things like a winch kit, cargo cover and bows, exhaust, etc. Also still looking for m101 fiberglass racks and an m36 long wheel base side rack.

    Can a pickup tow a M939?

No problem at all, but I'd only do that when it's safe to. I've moved 5 tons with a CUCV blazer before (not fast, far, or on the street).

    1951 m104 Trailer

Is there anyone still on the forum that has an m104 with the wood gates? I could use some measurements of the hardware so I can make something as close to correct as possible.

    ? deuce/m37

The windshields are interchangeable between the m35 and m37 (although the outer windshield frames are very different).

    ? deuce/m37

    They are not interchangeable.

What vehicle did 12.00 x 20 NDTs come stock on?

m819 tractor wreckers and I think the m246 as well.

    Blew out transmission maybe

I have one with the exact same problem, not sure what caused it and I haven’t had a chance to look at it. I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread; hopefully the damage isn’t too bad.

New to me m59 dump truck...

I didn't get time over the winter to do a single thing to the dump truck. I did figure out that the TV episode it was pictured in is from 1991. I also found a shipping receipt for it that shows the first time it came to the yard was in 1995. It was bought as a package deal with an m108 crane...

    M416 Condition

Bantam made jeep trailers during WWII, and then after they made trailers for the civilian market. Those trailers had tailgates and a ball hitch instead of the pintle. Those are both the same width as the m100, while the m416 is a little bit wider. There were some other oddball trailer...

    M416 Condition

Around 1978 (not 68) m416 trailer production changed over to the m416a1 and had surge brakes instead of the rotating hitch. It's pretty much the same as a regular m416 in design and dimensions, but there are small differences to tell them apart besides the big hitch setup like the center...

    Paint scheme for my M1028a2

There probably won't be one of a CUCV but there will be one of the Dodge m880 pickup. It might be listed in the TM section here on the site. You'll have to find the book for MERDC 4 color camo, not the newer 3 color camo book.

    Paint scheme for my M1028a2

The camo on these vehicles is known as MERDC, it was first used in the 1970s. From info in TC 5-200 I believe the color scheme is "gray desert" and the 4 colors are sand, field drab, earth yellow, and black. By the time your m1028a2 was in use the 4 color camo was replaced with 3 color camo...

April 27 & 28, 2019: MTA Military Vehicle Show & Swap Meet (Augusta, NJ)

This thread seems slow this year, anyone else going? I'll be there vending as usual, some of the stuff I can bring down with me: m35 gasser radiator, NOS m54a2 multifuel radiator, NOS m35a2 radiator, 20mm ammo cans, tow bar chain clamps, m275 tractor deckplates, hmmwv 2 man cargo covers, cucv...

m-817 First start a no go.

Read this thread, halfway through is the procedure. It's not difficult at all. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?51059-Help-M818-Wont-start/page2 You should take a look at the operator's book, there's a lot of good info in there...

m-817 First start a no go.

Nothing goes wrong but once it's tripped the cable does nothing until it's reset at the other end. Until then the truck won't start.

m-817 First start a no go.

I'm fairly certain you need to open the hood and reset the shut off now.

m-817 First start a no go.

Was it last shut down with the emergency shut down cable instead of the switch?
