    M1008, I think?

MarcusOreallyus' post is on the right track but pretty much all reversed from what is on the truck. The driver's side does not need to be isolated ground as it's the 12v side and powers the front battery. The passenger NEEDS to be isolated ground, as that is the "24 volt" side, and that one...

M800 Garwood 20k winch on a 2.5 ton? Will it fit?

Welcome to the site! It will kind of fit, but not well at all. The frame on a 5 ton is taller than on a deuce so you’ll need to make brackets and extensions. The input on the winch is on the opposite (passenger) side from a deuce. The driveshaft is different, controls are different, PTO is...

    Military stencils

Rick was still in business when I saw him a few days ago! The website looks the same to me, you could always call or email him with what you need if the site isn't working for you.

    M1008, I think?

That's an m1028. Same as an m1008 but a little better (limited slip front axle and helper springs in the back). The truck is a mix of 12v and 24 volt (mostly 12). The truck should have 2 12 volt alternators and the exterior lights are 12 volt (along with almost everything else). The starter...

New to me m59 dump truck...

Started spraying a little bit of paint today. The goal is to get the quarter fenders on the truck in the next couple days. I'm sick of moving those around the barn. The other day I dug out a 5 ton PTO to sell and it had the aux output for a dump truck installed on it. So I swapped...

    Gun Ring Parts ID

Thanks. That's what I figured. Definitely no good for this gun ring. Yeah I bet it would look real good on your truck!:) The narrower socket threw me off, I read that it's specific to this trolley but not sure if that's true or not. It came with a later .50 cradle which obviously doesn't...

    M105 info

If the lunette hitch rotates without pulling it forward out of its socket then something is probably wrong. It should be fixed once it's seated in the casting. Trailer looks good!

    Gun Ring Parts ID

I picked up some gun ring parts the other day but it's a pieced together setup. It's the older style ring, m49 I think. I guess it uses a specific cradle that fits the thinner socket on the skate. Anyone know if there is an adapter to make it work with a regular long pintle? It came with a...

    Will this tow it home?

It will definitely be wide enough for a HMMWV. 8ft 6in is as wide as you can typically get without an oversize permit.

    M756A2 pipeline construction vehicle

Thanks, I'll have to keep an eye out for a set. I'd still be happy to make some rear anchor block hooks for you. I can either make a template to line them up on the block or tack or weld them to a block if you want to ship the sides to me. Beyond Biodiesel, if you want a set of the 1/4"...

    Newbie with a few questions

You'll need 24v bulbs provided the truck is still stock. I think the bulb number should be a 1251 but you should open them up and check to make sure. It will be cheaper to order then online vs. ordering them at the parts store. Also welcome to the site.

    Newbie with a few questions

The smaller light is probably the blackout stop light so that only comes on when you brake. They should all have bulbs you can change easily.

    M756A2 pipeline construction vehicle

I'd definitely keep an eye out for the original blocks. I'm still going to get the trunnion info next time I have the poles down, I've been using them quite a bit lately. Any chance you could post some pictures of the original boom chains sometime? I'd be interested in seeing the pear...

Looking for some insight on a M1008

Welcome to the site. That looks like a nice truck. However... if I'd ever pay 14k for a CUCV (and I wouldn't) it would at least be an m1028 with the limited slip in the front end. It definitely wouldn't still have a 6.2 NA diesel or a 3 speed turbo 400 either. I think I'd also want the NATO...

    M103-3

Any decent truck shop can make you some new u-bolts, usually for cheap. I think I paid $15 each for the last ones I had made locally. You can move the springs to under the axle, a number of people have done that as well with good results.

Bridge truck tires on a M813 - what would it take?

Bridge trucks have different wheels than a regular 5 ton. If you want to run 14.00x20s dualed then you’ll want the wheels, spacers, and the long wheel studs. Your truck will be 1 foot too wide to go down the road without an oversize permit. If you want to run them as singles I’d recommend...

Would love to hear your thoughts on a M275A2

If you do end up with I've got the correct taillight brackets. I had to cut one up last year for parts for my short wheelbase dump truck. As far as what it's worth that's a tough question. If it was running and I was buying it I'd prefer to be in the 2-3k range. Another $500 more wouldn't...
