You need to be one of two types of people in order to buy and keep a HMMWV.
#1 you like working on your own vehicles and doing your own maintenance.
#2 you have a big bank account and spending money on your toys isn't a problem for you or your wife.

With that said if the latch on the bottom locks into the pintle now it isn't going to fall out.
I probably wouldn't want to fire a live M2 out of it but for just display purposes and driving around unless your off-roading in it I doubt...
You don't really need the travel lock your using you need the yoke part of the UPA more then anything.
Once the Yoke is attached to the UPA and the T&E mech. is on, the travel lock your using is useless.
Good luck finding a body wiring harness.
You may want to check MAC motors but I'd see how much you can get for one of your kidneys first then I'd try and search for the thread that was started about making a body harness.
