Very nice trucks! Was it raining when you took the pics? Either the trucks are freshly wet or they have the shiniest military paint jobs I've ever se3en. ;)
Here's a temporary solution to the problem: Pick up the one in Forest Park first. Then use its spare or one of the outside duals along with the spare already on it to bring the one home from RAFB. Then, all you have to do is track down a couple of spare rims/tires. :)
Sorry to hear of your health problems. I know what it's like! If I were still living in Watford (Herts), I'd buy your Rover! As it is, shipping would really kill me! Good luck finding a buyer. I'm sure there is someone in your area who will give it a loving home.
Re: RE: Lifer needs assistance
Unfortunately, no. I still have to find and/or close on a property, get myself moved, and get my M37 up and running. Maybe next year???
Congrats on the "score." I wish my wife would bid on stuff like that! Her interests run more toward shoes and fur/leather coats, both of which she has in copious abundance! (At last count, I think she had 17 fur or leather coats and 73 pairs of shoes.)
Re: RE: W400 Air Force Ambulance. got some paint on
Aha! There was method in your madness after all! You're absolutely right about flat colors hiding the "imperfections."
Thanks for the info on the "folding" red crosses, too. Kinda like hazmat placards, huh?
RE: W400 Air Force Ambulance. got some paint on
Thanks for the "update." I know that the times do change...I just didn't realize how much they've changed, miliitary-wise. It seems like only a year or two has elapsed since I retired from the AF, whereas it has actually been 19 years come 01...
I like watching the Red Bull flugtag competitors in action. It reminds me of the famous redneck's last words "Hey, y'all! Watch this!"
That said, it looks like your hummer is all set to blow any "enemy pizza slices" out of the sky. Good luck! :D
RE: W400 Air Force Ambulance. got some paint on
It doesn't look too bad in green, I guess. Looks pretty good, as a matter of fact, even though I'm a bit prejudiced towards the blue. Regarding your suggestion about camo, Elwenil, I can't say that I ever saw an ambulance in camo paint. They...
Crash boxes are NOT "difficult to shift." We who learned to drive in the '40s, '50s, and '60s dealt with them every day if we drove a truck (even a pickup). That's when they still taught kids to "drive" instead of "pointing the car where it's supposed to go." ;)
Greetings!
I have a 1954 M37 and a 1955 Pontiac, neither of which runs, that I need to have hauled from Abingdon, IL to Lavonia, GA. Mapquest puts the distance at a little under 850 miles.
You may contact me via PM or via e-mail at cbriggs@mchsi dot com to discuss logistics.
