You are getting to 65 MPH with a CUCV PU? You must have the 1/2 ton version, as the 1-1/2's were not rated for that kind of speed. Good luck on your hunt, I might ask have you also checked the shocks, as they have some work to do to dampen
the handling issues. As...

I have a Unimog S404.114 listed in the classifieds and hope to find it a good home here in Illinois, as the reason is due to a possible reposting to another NPS site fairly far away from Springfield. What I will be looking for is a U1300L with High Speed or Ultra...

BackWoodsDrifter:
Good luck on your bike. I had a 1978 CB750F Honda (used)that had a hard life before I bought it in 1993, and as the seals were starting to leak oil, I overhauled the top end of the engine. The mechanics estimated at that time it had about 130,000 +miles...

Take your manuals to any liberal arts college with a Russian language class, and I will bet that they can translate t into good American English for you! The technical Russian should throw them for a loop, but the Russians have borrowed a lot from other languages...

I'll bet finding parts for that in the U.S. just bout rivals locating the rare bar of "Unobtainium" for sale in your average NAPA Parts store!

In doing some research on the Ural motorcycles here in the U.S., it seems that the Ural Patrol 750 and it's sisters get very poor user reviews here in the states for the 2015 models, probably the highest rating that I saw on any one of them was one red star out of...

Boys, when Uncle says "Scrap" they are scrap. You paid for it, he used them, and then determined that a military HMMWV is no safer in civilian hands then the first M151's were. Quit your crying. I have seen perfectly serviceable railroad locomotives with all the prime mover...

I ran into a currently in service Chevrolet CUCV(1) 1-1/2 Ton pickup still in service with the 342 CM CO. The truck was in charge of one of the company Sergeants who drove it down from Chicago, he says the trip was slow, but he pulled the truck back from the...

Rebelques87:
Back in 1985 I had the chance to witness the results of a tank like the one in your video that had blown in a factory fire around Thanksgiving in 1984 up in Buffalo, NY. The train that was hauling my passenger car to Cape Cod went through...

You had better get help now, as you seem to be developing an incurable dependency on the Unimog fix, and that is like heroin, it will sooner or later destroy your life if you don't seek help soon. I'll trade you an S404.114 for your U1300L, no questions asked, no...

Profo:
What model of Unimog do you have? On the S404.114 the transmission filler is to the left rear of the passenger seat just in front of the cab rear wall, and it also houses the dipstick for the tranny. Maybe yours is similar?:???:

I know this is going to cause a great deal of pain on here, but DO YOU KNOW when your truck's service and emergency air brake reservoirs were last hydro-stated? At 100 to 120 PSI, each one of these reservoirs are a bomb waiting to blow out the back of your cab, and spread...

Bumped for increased awareness of inspection & safety issues.:D
This is one time that a foot-long's going to cost more then $5.40!:naner:

Understood on the tank and valve units. The metering valve is a conventional Graham White engineers valve with the brass handle. Most older locomotives had the valves mounted against either the roof or front wall of the cabs and used a "J"...

MyothersanM1:
What is a wet tank? Is it an item that is usually hydrostated to check the integrity (which should be done to our air brake service and emergency reservoirs every few years to ensure their safe operation).
I did not know that Graham White made a metering...

I believe that my deuce and a half also had a sticker on the drivers rearview mirror, something about "Post Guard (or Guide) when Backing Truck". If you combat park the truck so you can always move forward on departure, you have much less chance of running...

Dear RDUKW and to other Steel Soldiers members:
Please accept my apologies in your case in regards to your particular trucks. However, do let me point out in most other states then California, if the vehicle is a motor vehicle and a boat, it has to be registered both...

Gents:
Respectfully, the GMC Banjo axle was no where near as heavily built as the Rockwell axles used in the M35A2 series. It was a fair design for 1940, but mechanically speaking, it is a poor design for 2015. In bearing and axle sizes the deuce is a true 2-1/2 to 5 ton...

Its going to start a firestorm, but I have seen the MVPA do very little in the states where the DMV cracked down on MV useage. Most states with more favorable laws (Texas, Illinois) it was a private individual or group working with the legislators to get the laws whipped...

I do believe that the deuce and five tons do have something on them called an "Air Horn". Use it for backing, they will hear it. A locomotive air horn would work also, but they are not legal for use on the highways in most states, and the smallest takes a 1/2"ID air line...
