My motor always ran stronger than other stock trucks I drove. Theres a tag on it from Ft. Carson, not sure what they did. All the safetys were still on the motor when I bought it. I was surprised when I installed the EGT gauge in. I could hit 1200F and more completely stock with a load. I...
Your going to need a big cooler with a fan. I bet Simp sent you a good idea, as he has been there and done it. Just remember the EGT wills get hot when you turn up the fuel, then add in a lot of weight and see them sky rocket.
I had one and towed it with my ram 2500. It would tow fine but it is heavy trailer with no brakes. Make sure your hitch is setup to have some tongue weight. If the trailer is level or has no tongue weight, it will sway and sway bad. Once its set up properly, it will tow fine. Mine had a...
You do know that these trucks stock will hit 1200 if you bury the throttle for any period of time? Im interested to see your results with W/M injection, but I highly doubt you will lowered the EGTs that much. Why not try running the truck the way it is? Ive always wanted to see some numbers...
Max boost I see is 35psi. I have the fuel turned up high and she has a lot more pep. I run a 4in straight pipe and a TMG air filter. She will get hot, have to keep an eye on the EGTs. I can hit 1300F pretty easily. I like to keep it below 1200. I need an intercooler!
I would trouble shoot the turbo first. Could be a seal or just gummed up from lack of use, or flame heater. If the truck hasnt ran in a long time, then I wouldnt say wet stacking. Wet stacking is more common on stationary engines that idle for long periods, like days without a load. Also...
Sometimes the right decision is not the fun decision. But its the smart choice. Im always scrambling the few weekends before a trip to make sure everything is squared away on the rig. Consider taking a drive to the MTA show to look around and see the venue. Its a quick drive in a regular...
While you have the rim apart, I would change the o ring and entire valve stem with seal. Then, you dont have to worry about it (leaks) for a long time. Also, 1400s are becoming harder and harder to find, as they are no longer used by the military. Either 395s or 16s are you choice for newer...
I thought about the same thing for my 923, so I borrowed a econoline 12 ton backhoe pro trailer from my uncle for a few months. Electric brakes, 23 foot deck and weighs right at 5000lbs. My 2016 ram 2500 pulled it fine empty, but it is tongue heavy. With the electric brakes being junk, I...
No worries, we are all busy. As far as tires goes, I dont have any of the NDTs. If you text me, I can give you the number of a local guy who has a lot of parts for deuces and is part of the local military vehicle club. Also, there is a large military vehicle show this weekend in north NJ...
74M35A2 did a great step by step. One thing I will add, if you completely drained the injector lines, it would help to crack open the 10MM nut for the return line on top of the valve cover. So when you pumping the lift pump, the air can be pushed out at the highest point. Ran out of fuel once...
