RE: Used tires
Yee, haw! Drove 10 hours and spent 1.5 hours with the guys. Real nice fella's. Brought home the last good 14.5's. Glad I got them. They have a little of everything coming off the base's now. They have hundreds of some 21" tires the marines are using. If you can find some...
Well, I made a 12 hour round trip yesterday to Alma GA and picked up the last 5 good 14.5' that the guys had for $50 each. One is pretty bald but I figured it would make a good spare. Good 4 11.00's to put on bob the deuce right now while I hunt or make rims for the 14.5's.
You guys mention...
Gentlemen:
A little info that might be useful to some of you. On the first convoy I drove my deuce back from Aberdeen to my home in Blythewood in 12 hours strait. That was 500 miles and 12 hours. I would advise against a trip like that going up. I was beat. You don't want to spend your day...
I have a 6 lug wheel in 22.5" that I assume will fit a deuce. I will have to check but I have always assumed you can buy these rims new and it seems like I prices some a few years ago. I'll have to try to put this rim on my truck and report back.

Speaking of 11.00 tires I need, sorry make that want, a set of Michelin radials for bob the deuce. Used with around 50% is about right. Anybody know anyone near SC that would have 4. I haven't check with John Winslow or any or the NC crowd yet.
Thanks,
Joe Trapp
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Surplus Yards in Ga?
There's an Easy 8 at Fort Jackson that I can photo when I go by to get some pictures of the half track for someone else. What shots would be good? Can't get inside, the MP's don't like that.

RE: Hmm.. sounds good but need a visual.
Let me first off thank Chris for unlocking this page.
I just placed an ad in the classifieds for a reduction in price on the above truck. This is a "this weekend" special. I am tired of looking at the truck. I will place more pictures on the ad...
Well, I brought a new truck home today, so since I have done nothing on the shortened deuce since getting it from my father in law, I guess it needs to go.
I am considering it a project truck. I needs lots of little things to be a good truck. Mostly time, which I don’t have a lot of. It...
For what it is worth, SECO in Augusta Georgia scrapped out about 30 last year. They probably kept the engines. But they had been sitting for many years. That one above looks pretty good to me.

RE: Opinions on value of this bobbed duece
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying the truck in question is not worth the asking price. I am of the belief that a "bob" deuce and a regular truck in the same shape shouldn't be too far apart in price. Tires and paint jobs add to the value of...
RE: Opinions on value of this bobbed duece
OK guys, help me out here. I have seen these puppies sell for big money and I can't understand why. I have one I will probably sell in a few months if I find something else I need. I took a running deuce with a new bed. Removed the new bed. I did...
Life stinks. Someone wanted them about $350 more than I did. Oh, well, I'm sure there will be two more with doors, louvers, hood, head lights, combat wheel and a complete front roller next week!

Once again the lack of money has stopped me from having what I want.
I get mine at the store in Columbia SC. Been getting them there for almost 3 years. They always have 20 or 30 of them and I have gotten for as little as $25 if they really want to move them.
Well the auction ends tomorrow. I guess I'll have to see if anybody wants them real bad. I called the guy today and the reserve is more than I am willing to pay. Not that I don't think they are worth what he wants, I just don't want to pay that much for something 840 miles from home.
Indeed THEY are. I am trying to determine if I can put TWO of them on the old F350. It's not looking too good. I am now thinking of two trips.

I need some help determining the weight of some stuff so I can decide if I should buy it. Could anyone out there give a good guess at the weight of a half track with the drive train complete but cut off at the back of the cab? It's 840 miles from my home and I am trying to decide if I can get...
I have got to keep an eye on you guys. As for the original post, what you have is extra shade. In some cultures this is obtained with a larger hat. As for the Aberdeen trip with the AC unit, we needed more BTU's. We have a diesel powered cooler unit in a truck body we removed that might be...
RE: Re: RE: Looking for Exide 6TL
I can get "seconds" at the interstate store in Columbia, SC for between $25 and $35 each with exchange, depending on who is minding the counter. I have had a few go bad but for the money they have been well worth it. I might try the battery restorer Ronzo has...
Doesn't the M813 have a solenoid for the fuel shut off? We tried to pull start ours and it wouldn't run until we hooked up out John Deere excavator and some booster cables to the truck. The 24 volt excavator was driven at top speed next to the truck and the truck was cranked with the...
