    1941 K18-C GMC Recovered today

Look at all of the pics, I think someone did. It was on a trailer and then in another location.

Remember, Bodymen back then were a very highly skilled group of people and could join metal like it was done from the factory. The reason being is that they did it the same way in the factory, BY HAND!

Doctors orders, Zout needs a new project! We should all chip in and get it for him. On edit: I just looked through the rest of the pictures and it looks like someone else got it but can you believe the size of the trailer they towed it on?! That HAS to weigh more than 5,000lbs.?

Back then people knew how to push a vehicle out of mud. Nowadays if they can't get a wrecker or another vehicle to pull with it stays stuck.

And I would guess they were running for holes, not taking the target with them. May be why the K18 is so rare.

Gotcha. Do you figure it will start on the 6 volt once it gets some run time on it? Or does it now and this is just insurance?

Nice, the rivets look original. I must have missed the part about the kicker battery. Is it wired to a relay to come in at start or only as needed? I like the stealth install.

No baffles in the tank or did they rot out? I see what may have been the remains of some in there. Yup, patch it and seal it and just keep your eyes peeled for one to pop up. I am guessing it was a more or less universal tank for all of the GMC trucks? Or was it specific to that truck?

Are you still going for the original tank or a reasonable substitute?

I have followed this thread from Day one and have always advocated the use of the truck as it was originally purposed. That said, I am also a wise arse who likes to joke around a lot so if I have offended anyone in the process I apologize. I will make no more comments on this thread unless asked...
