    "Rescued" M816 Wrecker

Finished installing the 395's onto some wheels today, planning to mount them on the truck this week as each hub is inspected/serviced. For those that aren't aware the front winch hasn't been operational. Owner before Valence had a bolt for the shear pin and retracted the cable tight enough to...

Take some PB blaster to the throttle linkage, work it back and forth repeatedly. Running some seafoam (or B12, same stuff) through the fuel system will help.

Piston Rings Worn Out, Time for a Rebuild

High probability that the crack is between a coolant passage and the oil valley, which would match up with a uneven mating surface problem.

46 vs 53 inch tires on a bobbed deuce?

Mine was turned up, egt spikes of 1300 sustained at 1100 (max) I could hit 60, at 2000ft elevation flat terrain. Up here at 5000ft, no. Price wise your looking at 10-15k in parts to get the deuce to be happy at 65mph, over what you will be paying for 55mph.

46 vs 53 inch tires on a bobbed deuce?

You won't get a deuce bobber to handle 65mph without a lot of changes, and not cheap. Engine swap, conversion to air brakes, power steering (to control the road manners), tires, and either a transmission swap to a Eaton Fuller 9513 or regearing the axles. Up here in Utah the multifuel lacks the...

Axle strength is not a problem with any of these trucks, trans will go long before. To regear the axles is not cheap. You can buy another truck for the same cost. Not a concern anyways with the larger tires. A m931 would be a great starting point since your swapping cabs. NHC250 engine, auto...

    FEMTT style global explorer

If you want the truck to fit inside a shipping container only a deuce will fit. Any 5 ton has too wide of a body. With a preference for the larger engines the 5 ton trucks that are an a0 or a1 come with the NHC250 engine. Add a turbo and a few upgrades will get you good power and respectable...

Would save you alot of time and money to start with a m934, or a m109. Depends on how much space do you need in the camper. M109 will get you a 12ftx8ft camper, m934 is 17ftx8ft when not expanded. You can also take a shelter from a m109 and mount it onto a m931/932 Also keep in mind weight when...
