How about posting a photo of your 818 with the 52s, it looks like a 10 ton with those tires. Jason, I found an 818 near Russellville, was a logger until he blew the winch then the transmission, I am sure he will think it is still worth 3k, but I am going to drive out to see him...
$405
With the GL cut and taxes it was a tad over $400 which is a great price for me since I gave up at over $600 on the two previous times I bid on this same dolly! This has been on my wish list for a couple of years. now for an M818!

I won my Dolly M198A1, I had to bid on it three times but now it is All Mine! I am a little nervous about the two failures to pick up the dolly but it looks fine in the photos and the price was right! I just hope I can roll it home behind my Armada, tongue weight is showing 250lbs at 30...
For $3200 i couldn't see how I could go wrong, everything works, leaks but works and I just had a guy call saying he would haul it for me at $3.25 a hauled mile, so I may even get it home in a week or so.

Maybe
I got a Dodge 3/4 ton on GL so I could pull a larger trailer but so far I haven't found one to rent in the area! I found the data plate on the front end loader but no luck so far on the backhoe, where is it located, I may have to dig down through some grease to find it, a little TLC is...
Got It!
It took a week of haggling but I got my Ford 4500 along with a dead battery, a few leaks and a full set of manuals(9 I think). Tried to pick it up Monday, that was a No-Go, way to heavy for my car hauler, it weighs way more than the 6400llbs it is listed as! Best price on the 52...
Mine looked the same?
When your pump failed could you still hear it running? The reason I am asking is that mine would make no noise at all! Before I cotter pin it all back together I would like to know it has at least a change of being serviceable again.

Me Too
The diesel is two grand cheaper than the gasser and about fifty miles closer, the diesel owner is the actual owner where as the guy with the gasser is an equipment dealer. If the guy tomorrow will go for 4K I will have a backhoe this time tomorrow!
Thanks for the Help.

Ford 4500
Found another Backhoe this one is a Ford 4500, talked to the owner, it starts, drives and stops, backhoe and front end loader both work fine, it is a diesel. Problems, a few small leaks, right brake drags a little if driven at road speeds for a mile or more. He is selling because...
When towed my last deuce from the hog farm we had to have a driver in the towed deuce due to the front wheels wanted to cut to sharply in any sort of turn, they would just lock up to the side and drag side ways!!!!! Do you tie off the steering wheel? I may have a bedless 5 ton to tow about 50...
Does Both
It sucks it out of the barn and then blows it out onto the field as fertilizer! It runs off the stock PTO and one big hydraulic pump mounted beside the engine.

RE: Count me in
Nov. gets pretty busy with the holidays, Sept-Oct. may be better, still cold enough for a fire but not to cold to work on the trucks(just in case).

Gas Engine
I failed to mention it has a gas not diesel engine, any special items to check other than the usual hard starting, smoke, no power?
