Many years ago I bought a 68 Beetle to restore. Pulled the seats out to recover them and found two large plastic bags with some kind of dried weeds in them behind the rear seat back. Disposed of them appropriately.:roll:

I would have to agree, while most of those items adorned my vehicles at times 95% of them went home that night with the owners. The ones that didn't were usually picked up the following day.
I don't know about anyone else but that statement right there bothers me. You have only been wheeling for 13 years and you gave up years ago helping people. Then you make the nasty comment to me about my reference to Granville King and you wonder why people are bitter? I have NEVER, in 46 years...
Snoop, All of the carburetors are adjustable for idle mixture. The later model 13660 carburetor has a plug over the idle mixture screw. If you are looking at the engine from the driver side fender the plug is on the carb mounting flange just to the right of the upper mounting bolt. You can drill...
Too bad other parts of this site don't follow that creed! BUT!! Definitely get hold of the operators manual, this is not your typical Home Depot special. If you do something wrong with theirs it stalls, if you do something wrong with this one the magic smoke comes out. If the magic smoke comes...
Welcome Snoop, I am one of the ones from that post that was referenced on the 838. Feel free to check them out. One thing you have to check is if you have any exhaust leaks. I would bet that the manifold is leaking where it meets the head and maybe at the junction with the exhaust pipe. If it is...
I spent two weeks with Granville and SuperDawg II I think it was. The man was a genius when it came to wilderness survival both with and without a vehicle. His off road fixes are legendary. He was also the most generous individual alive, if he had it and you needed it then it was yours.
I...
Well Skinney, let me know when you have been wheeling for 40 plus years. Toyotas were not exactly popular or even in the US in the 60's and I was going many hundreds of miles into the wilderness. You talk like you are the most knowledgeable man in the universe when it comes to off roading, you...
You really do not need 6TL's unless the cable length will not allow for smaller batteries. Any of the larger pick-up truck batteries will work fine. The 6 TL does not have any more cranking amps than a group 27, it does have a ton of reserve power for leaving lights on and for sitting for long...
Gets your attention doesn't it?:shock::shock::shock:
I don't know about a deuce but in a jeep it is a BIG air brake too. Slowed me down fast enough that the guy behind me rear ended me before I even had a chance ti hit the brake! No real damage and we both got a laugh out of it along with the...
By the time the scums lawyer gets done plea bargaining he will be out in two years at the most. Go after the yard and him both. I will bet he did not cut that up any at all. Just dropped it and ran straight to the yard with it. Why waste gas and acetylene if you don't have to? The yard could see...
A friend of mine ha a M 151 soda blasted and it came out real nice and pretty. Problem is it was too pretty! Too smooth, had the sand the entire vehicle so the paint would grab. That was verified by the fact that places we did not sand peeled.

Definitely a bad battery, did you have any charging lights on when it was running? If not then the alternators are good and it is just a bad battery. Replace both.
