Ether Part Question
For the experts here. Took out the ether plug in the engine that the ether hose hooks to. Took it apart and I can not make sense of why it is not just open through it to get ether in the engine. Why the brass plug that threads in through the middle, no hole. When I...
HI again,
M925A2. When I started the truck and let it idle for 20-25min to warm up like I always do; the hwy CTIS light blinks like it does to set up the system (this maybe takes 15min to do at idle before going to a solid light) then I noticed the top two lights where solid (hwy and XC both...
Brand new Kats ether bottle, only checking the system when cranking the engine! Waited till next morning to test after not using the truck to make sure it was cold. Works good with the temp switch removed, shoots out a hard stream of ether with the hose off.. just need the part at this point...
Thanks, Thats what I thought it was. I only have a 10 level book(operators book). It was 28 degrees outside but I assume the switch opens up way above that. Might have to look at the sticky TM thread?? That might not be a Cummins part?
HI,
Trying to trouble shoot the Ether start system that does not currently work. After using the VOM and blowing air through the ether hose I found out that current is not going through a switch (assume it is a temp switch mounted on the engine block). Wired around it for now with a jumper...
Mine does the same thing, M925A2. Clicking coming from the fuel tank. Not sure what that is or if it is normal. How do you get it to start so quick at that temp?
HI,
Does anyone know what the Hydraulic specs are on the hydraulic system for my M925A2 truck? <Mainly wanting to know GPM and PSI that the system can provide.
Thanks!
OK, so maybe I can play with the ctis settings to sand or so forth. But after I shut it down and restarted the 4 lights did not come back on, just never had that before. THe HWY one flashes every now and again but then goes to steady on.
HI All again,
On my M925A2 I was driving off road like I always do in HWY mode, (cuz I do not want to mess with the CTIS Settings). And the top 4 lights started flashing while driving, shut the truck down and looked for an air leak, because I assume that is what the 4 flashing lights are for...
Can I put it in REVERSE LOW if I am just backing up after pulling something out of the ground in LOW FORWARD? (Plan on pulling out a shrub row that is 100 yds long and would go forward and back a lot in low range just to use low for forward pulling)
Hi again!
From what I have read in the manual and on the dash, it sounds like you can not use reverse with the transfer case in low range. Can this possibly be correct??
Thanks, I will play with that! So it saying 35ohms would be a bad sender then being the tank is around half full. I will pull that out next.
Update: took the sender out and took it apart and cleaned up any rust and bench tested it. Seemed to work OK up to 29 ohms on full and 1 ohm on low...
Thanks, I get 35- 36 ohms when I push through the sending wire by the sender and to ground (I get the same ohms at the back of the gauge.) but when I unplug it and put the meter in the female part on the sender connection to ground I get readings all over the place!?!? Gauge has 24 volts...
