With the proper tool,(terminal pick), proper technique, and patience, every terminal in the fuseblock can be removed. Taking care to put the terminal's lock back in service, then they can be re-installed. Patience is the key item here.
My M915A1 would run 63 on the highway. It's equipped with the Cummins 400 Big cam III, Allison automatic, 3 stage jake brake, and Detroit No-Spin in the forward drive axle.
Most all M35's I've seen had 10 leaf spring packs,(I had one that had 12 leafs).
The M342's I've seen have all had 12 leaf spring packs. I did not measure the spring packs for thickness.
I've seen several different M342 data plates with gvw's ranging from an Airborne rating of 21,300 to a high...
I posted pic of my deuce tipper to show that 14.5's are a good match for 1100's. I have been running this combination for a few years now. The wheels are MLVW. I've seen 14.5's mounted on 5 ton combat wheels and they look to be a good match also,(Sam Winer's have them for sale on his lot). Tire...
I move a lot of dirt/materials cross country/agriculture fields type of driving and the 14.5's have been a great addition to my truck equipped with 1100's on the rear drives. The front end doesn't sink as much as it did with 1100 fronts on soft terrain.
I might use something similar to Gimpyrobb's original design to slide the main staff over.
It could be mounted below the bed between the frame rails or along side the rail on the outside with access under the seat or further inboard.
Above the bed floor the height could be just below and...
It weighed about 154lbs in the crate. Capacity as much as 1000lbs.
A slide over or inner pipe mount, either above or below the bed. I'm still working that out on scratch paper.
I might even add an air/manual hydraulic cylinder to aid in lifting the jib using truck's air.
I learned many years ago about buying at auction. "Be the bidder, Be the buyer".
I didn't need a whole pallet of these and didn't end up with any shipping costs as I got it "cash and carry".
Re: Hand Operated Winch-Lift Hoist
A while back I purchased this NOS surplus item from Sam Winers,(http://www.samwinermotors.com/PDF/RockAndDirt.pdf ) . I have not done a base mount for it yet but, I plan to make it mobile from vehicle to vehicle where needed. The handle is in the third pic. It...
Data plate I had seen for the XM381 deuce listed it as a 2 ton cargo truck. It listed it's empty weight at 10,300lbs.
The off road loaded gvw listed was 15,310
It had a total highway gvw of 17,750lbs.
I believe the rear axle weights were augmented with auxilliary spring set included.
