Dot 3 brake fluid and a piece of terry cloth to polish works well on composite head lamps as well as plastic turn signal lenses.
If you have CARC on plastic, wet sand with 320-400 grit sand paper then polish with the brake fluid. It works.
It might be a bit cheaper to use 5 ton axles under the truck if you want more braking action. As a plus the 5 ton axles are a lot larger and Hemtt wheels can be used un-molested.
A quick search of hose manufacturers yields the answer to your question.

Grade 5 bolts will work, however a grade 8 bolt will give you a higher load allowance. Rivets were used because they fill the holes when compressed while bolts require a tight tolerance hole.
If you are going to open the holes up to allow for a 7/16" fastener, make sure that you

Basically towability.
I'm planning on setting the 101 on top of the 116, so the 116 is of most interest.
Overall condition of the tires, (pics show them being aired up) and rattle the wheels for condition of wheel bearings.
I've got 20 ton jack stands and blocking for the 101 to set on as...
The trialers are also at Blount Island.
Same auction as the one you participated in.
I got a M101a3 and a M116a3.
I'll PM you lot numbers if you can help.
Recovery complete @ JAX Fl.
Need a couple of trailers inspected @ Jacksonville Fl.
Anyone going for pick-up in the next couple of weeks available?
Thank you.
I kind of figure anything over 2500 hours on an air cooled generator even a MEP-002 or 003, you are asking for trouble.
I have seen some sets that were sold with more than 6000 hours showing but have not conversed with the purchaser.
Look at the condition of the screws holding the hour meter...
Gimpyrob,
If you can pull the cable and allow it to soak in Kroil or PB Blaster for a few days. After it has soaked and the cable is freed up slide the cable into some heat shrink and heat the shrink to cover the cable.
The parking brake cables on my Suburban were replaced twice befor I...
The deck height of the M1061 trailer is 37". The lunette ring on mine was at 35".
These trailers tow VERY heavy. Base trailer weight is 5850 lbs but I think this is without the landing gear legs which weigh close to another 100 lbs each.
Since GL handles these trailers with fork lifts figure...

S&S could not have produced a better video if they tried.
Lets fact facts, companies are in business to make money. There is no money making minor design changes to 45 year old trucks. Look at what Lockheed did to the C-130J aircraft. New engines, glass cockpit and new wing...
You can thank your congress critter for a lot of the short comings of the new FMTV truck and reliability issues. They are the ones that voted for no longer exempting the military from the clean air act.
In the past the EPA exempted the military from a lot of safety and emissions standards. Not...
If cab-over trucks were such a great design, why has most of the over the road trucking industry given up on the cab over and gone to mostly long nose trucks?
The only cab-overs’ I see in my area are local delivery trucks which require greater visibility in tight confines.
As for safety, I...
Where were you a couple of years back when I needed a painter that could produce a textured finish??
Here is a photo of the three Fed-Std-595 color chips side by side.
From left to right, color 34096, 383 green color 34094, and 34095.
The 34096 is a little darker green than the 34094.

Some of what you may seeing is that an enamel paint will take a bit longer for the solvent to evaporate which in laymen’s terms means that the pigments have more of a chance to settle after spraying.
We used to have problems from time to time when we applied the enamel Mil-E-52929...
Having not seen the Gillespie coating in person, my best guess would be that the pigments that they are using are probably milled to size using a ball mill and as such are tiny in size.
Paints are checked for "Fineness of Grind" with a tool called a Hegman draw bar. Basically its' nothing more...
I did.
Purchase any polyurethane paint your heart desires and have the dealer color match it to the color you want.
Provided you are using a two component polyurethane it will stand up to the decon fluid. Your skin will be gone but the paint on your vehicle will still be there.
The only...
