Anyone got any ideas on what to look for when the sprag doesn't engage? Would I need to pull the transfer case to repair this? Is there is a simple fix to this problem? (Well nothing is really simple, but I'm hopeful.)
Anyways, went to Stoddard Wells a few months ago with the clan and when...
I got a set from OD Iron. They were the ones with the zipper on them. Fairly easy to install. However, the boots failed within a month or two so I'm a little disappointed. It wasn't fun replacing them in the first place, but to have to get another pair and do it again..... Well you...
RE: Re: parts
It was a fantastic day at the yard!!! The only problem that I ran into was not bringing enough cash. Was a little strapped on funds this weekend, but oh well, still got a couple of things. Managed to pick up a pair of the axle adapters with chains for a medium tow bar, a H250...
Just checking on whether or not we are still on for Saturday the 5th. I will NOT be bringing the deuce this time. Had to pull the radiator and take it to the shop today. Who knows when I'll get it back. So, the deuce is out of commission again. I see that it's supposed to rain cats and dogs...
I'll be there! Bringing the Deuce as usual. I'll have to hookup with MHB285 and hopefully KeyLargo. Looking forward to seeing you guys there. BTW, I'm expecting to be bringing a friend who also has a M35 and Unimog. He's looking for a couple of things. (Just blew the motor on the M35...
Well, made it home safe and sound. Had a lot of problems on Friday with the truck. Got no farther than the freeway onramp when the truck kept loosing power. After 2.5 hours of screwing around, and 3 agonizing/hobbling trips to the PepBoys, I was able to install a 12V Electric Fuel Pump and...
Me too! Keep me posted on when were going. Gotta get a few things that are stashed away.
Gimpy - Got no advice on the snatchblock. Don't own one yet... Cya!
Well, just got in this morning. Loading up the truck as we speak. I have a couple of minor things to repair before I can split. Hopefully, all goes well, I'll be leaving by no later than 11:00AM this morning from Santa Ana. Talk to you soon!!!!
RE: Convoy signs, and free reflective material.
Right on. So when we get there, I'll be the one that everyone would like to shoot for not being able to keep up, HAHAHA!!! Just kidding, as with any Deuce or MV, these aren't meant to be racing or for much highway driving to begin with.... Cool...
RE: Convoy signs, and free reflective material.
You got it! I'm also going to bring a small portable air compressor with hose and tire pressure chuck. Never know if we need to air down and then put some back in. Besides, it'll make it nice to fill the air mattress with. I'm also going to...
RE: Convoy signs, and free reflective material.
Getting close to D-Day Ladies and Gentleman. Really excited to go play with the boys this weekend (Let's keep it clean fellas, keep your minds out of the gutter as I don't swing that way...) Anyways, I'm throwing on the canvas tonight, and...
Definently get from someone who can sell it by the gallon for around $30.00. I was impatient and didn't have to wait when I needed it and paid anywhere from $7.50 to $10.00 for 11 Oz. Bottles. Spent about $80.00 in DOT 5 brake fluid to flush out my deuce. I'm totally going to buy it by the...
RE: Deuce brakes- no problem!
Right on Sarge! I just pulled the truck into the shop and am taking a look at the one "Hot" axle. (Hot as compared to the other 3) Anyways, there was no drag on the brake linings against the drums, and no play in the wheel bearings, drum rotates smooth with no...
Alrighty... Thanks for the replies. I was curious to find out a ballpark to what would be a normal operating temp (Such as 40 over ambient, etc...) I'll jack up the duece today or tomorrow and recheck for drag since I just replaced the rear brakes with new. Will probably drive it around a few...
Okay, I finally got the deuce all back together and am getting prepared for this weekends convoy to Stoddard Valley. I took the truck to the car show this evening for kicks... Was late, but did have a chance to talk to a few people. Anyways, I drive back to my office to park the truck...
I have a 1953 Reo M35 with a OA331 Gasser motor. I average roughly 4-6 miles per gallon. So I'd guess you would need 100-125 Gallons to get home. I'm not sure if this MPG ratio is normal for the OA331, but that is what I average.
