The tire pressure is all the same I tried that a few months ago. when I visually look at the frame nothing looks bent both sides of the frame look identical and there are no shims missing from either side I’m going to try measuring for spring sag and get back to you.
Hey guys, I have a m1028 retired forest service truck and I noticed that the driver side is leaning to one side I measured from front to back and it ranges from a half inch all the way up to 1 inch lower than the passenger side and the fuel tank is almost completely empty I’m not sure if this is...
Vacuum pump hitting the firewall? Do you mean the cdr? If it’s not the CDR then what other pump is there? Because my CDR is mounted on the bracket next to the air cleaner.
Hey guys, I have a m1028 And when I start the truck there is this ticking sound that I can hear both in and outside the truck but I can hear it more from inside the cab on the passenger side roughly coming from The heater box area, I stand outside the truck I can’t really hear it over the engine...
I know we bought the right part and it’s not the lift pump or a cracked line. The whole engine valley from the in case where it bolts to all the way to the engine valley drain at the back of the engine is wet but only the bottom of the injection pump is wet close to halfway up the sides of the pump.
Hey guys, I have a 1986 m1028 and I’ve had trouble starting it every day since I got it and we have replaced the lift pump and the injectors and glow plugs trying to solve the issue, but I just realized that the valley of the engine is wet, so I sprayed it down with carb cleaner and I checked...
Hey guys, we just replace the injectors in my non-turbo 6.2 86 m1026 and when I accelerate hard there’s this whistle even when I let off the throttle until I slow down, almost like a turbo whistle, it’s pretty loud. it’s not the fan belts they’re all tight and none of the injectors are leaking...
Hi,
I have gotten a lot of use out of the CUCV Parts and Illustration Catalog that is posted on this site. It is invaluable for finding part numbers for things that are not the same on the civilian equivalent trucks and seeing how these things are supposed to go together.
While I was looking...
Hello i’ve been reading up on converting my truck to a manual it’s a 1986 m1028 and I want to put a sm465 in it but I need to re-gear the differential if I’m going to go on the freeway at 65-70 miles an hour where will the rpm be with 4:10 gears and LT235/85R16???
thanks guys!
It’s both tail pipes, have you ever smelled those hobby trains that blow that white smoke using that special fluid you put in to the smokestack?it smells like that A little bit.
Hello I was just wondering if anybody knew why my m1028 blows white smoke a little bit even at idle it’s smokes a little bit, even when you get on the gas at times, The smoke isn’t bad but it’s noticeable. I thought it was water vapor at first when it first starts. I have heard it can be bad...
Hello I have a 1986 M1028 with the original 24 V system and when I got it the volt gauge doesn’t work. I checked the fuse box, the fuse was OK. I’m wondering if it’s the resistor on the gauge but I’m not sure how to test it or how many ohms to test it for. PS if the gauge isn’t working does that...
On the back of the engine these two large gauge wires that come from each detection out of the harness and come to a connector with a capacitor............what is it, what’s supposed to be there ,and what’s it for.
Thanks for the help.
