Hi all,
I have a MEP-002A that is our Backup Whole-House power souce. I last ran it with a load about a month and a half ago during a power outage. At that time it ran for about 3 hours without issue. I normanly fire it up every other month just to keep the batteries topped off. About two...
MEP-016d conversion MWO
I have a copy of the MWO for the MEP-016d conversion done by Martin Diesel. It covers the Yanmar, P/N's 96-13014, L70 AE-DE, L70AE-DEMB, L70AE-DEVSE3.
My two 016d's have the Yanmar Model# "L70AE-DEMB"
Would like to have the MWO added to the SS's resources section...
Here's a few Pic's of the VR. Is a bad output transistor easily diagnosed/replaced? I am pretty mechanically inclined but have never worked on a generator before especially the electrical end, but I am willing to give it a shot. Or, would it be just as easily to replace the VR; that I can handle.
Picked up two MEP-016D's (016A refitted w/ Yamar Diesel) for GL. This one(Tan) fired right up after flushed, fresh fuel and oil. Runs great!
The issue is the output voltage; it's showing right at 172 volts on the volt meter and at the outlets when running at a steady 60Hz.
Voltage will not...
Got my first GL, MEP-002A up and running with the help and input from all of you here at SS. Thanks!!!!
The unit runs great, everthing seem to be working as it should and I have good power coming from the convenience outlets.
One thing that I am not sure if it's normal is; when throttle is...
Took them completely off the gererator and charged seperately. Levels were just alittle low in a few cells, toped them off and charged each one at the 6 amps charger setting for about 18 to 20 hours. May be some more time?
Pic's
Here's some pic's. Looks like the 002A was PM'ed in 2010 from the looks of the air filter. The battiers still had output of 12 volts between them. After charging only came up to 21 volts between them. Will pick up a couple from Costco the weekend.
Tom,
I just wanted to make sure I got it straight before I fire them up.
This 002A is the one I got your spin-on for.
Thanks,
Dave
ps. Also looking for a Slave Receptacle Bracket for the 002A, don't really care what it looks like as long as it not snap in half like mine. Let me know if...
Picked up (3) Gen Sets from GL Auctions; my first ones. (1) MEP-002A and (2) MEP-016D’s. I have read a lot of the posts regarding both these units. One recurring thing I keep seeing is, “do not just let them run at idle”
After changing fluids, filters and flushing fuel lines I want to fire...
I need to replace (add) the "T" female connector on the quick-connect on the engine side.
Anyone have info on "How to" and where to get the connector parts?

1992 HMC4 6.2 NA (#50)
Run across a Military rebuilt 6.2 engine (drop-in) and want to swap it into my blown 1992 H1.
I know the HMMWV engines are set to run off 24 volts so what kind of changes/upgrades will I need to make to get the HMMWV engine to run in my H1?
I am going to do the swap myself...never done one...
