In the future I plan to replace the LDT engine with an LDS, but an LDS would need the larger filter assembly to work. So, I found a complete air filter with all the plumbing off an M-52, and with some cutting, welding and a little improvising, I have an LDS air filter that works and fits on the...
Guy, coming back at ya. Not to many people south of the US/Canadian border know much about Yukon Jack Perma Frost Schnapps. It's pretty good stuff. It's big in Canada during Hockey Season.
Picking up my 1971/72 M35A2C at Victorville CA. in 2007. The canvas cab cover didn't last to long, but in 12 years the old girl has never left me on the side of the road.
Robo, I think the illegible letter to the left is an F with the Fox poking his head through the O, and with the right letter being an X. (FOX)
I really appreciate all the details large and small that the 3 of you have been able to add to this project. + Ahab's popcorn. When it's finished, there...
I think your right. The plates on the front look identical but the rear one on my truck is missing. I wonder if transporting Haz-Mat has anything to do with the Orange Logo on the doors. Under the bottom of the logo it has what looks like the letters NBCRS. Does that ring a bell?
They made this same basic truck in 3 & 4 axles as well. Were going to check TMs for the 3 & 4 axle trucks, as a couple of the guys thought those trucks came with TMs in English, and some of the basic operations were the same for all 3 trucks.
Many Thanks to Guyfang, Chris Miggins, and Robo McDuff for their unselfish time spent digging up TMs for a 1977 MAN 4X4 5 Ton truck. The TMs are of course printed in German, and search as we might, we were unable to find any in English. After some head scratching, we did find a company that...
Deuce, I have an M35A2C, M105A2, and a M38A1 jeep, and at the age of 65 It's hard for me to keep up with all 3. Now I know why a lot of the older members have Jeeps. Smaller, lighter, easier for older folks to work on and maintain.
cucvrus, speaking from over 4 years in retirement. Once you retire, you will have more to do than when you were working. And you will have lots of things to spend money on, such as Honey Do's.
I have a close friend who has a M923A2, and he battles from time to time with the CTIS system (central tire inflation system). Said it leaks air, and he's going to remove it. I got in to drive it, and the CTIS lights were flashing and the tires looked fine. You might give that system a look see...
I'd like to get new rubber and tubes all the way around on my truck. I've got 8 down and 2 to go. I'm using the standard Titan 9.00X20 NDCC tires, and out this way, they sure are getting hard to find.:(
