Yeah that looks like the right one and about the right price. I show the price to the government in 2020 was $760.94 from Medallion Instrumentation Systems LLC.

Beware the MMDC's you see on ebay - most are for boats and don't have the correct programming nor the air tank transducer fittings. I've scored a few for spares and all of them have had one or both of the pressure transducers inoperative just like my original so I sourced replacement transducers...
Engine ECM uses 24v exclusively from my experience. Although it will happily run on anything down to about 10v. At 28v it draws about 1.2A with the engine running.
Only computer I'm aware of that runs on 14v is the ABS unit.
If you're going to all the trouble then I would just figure out how to run the Niehoff 570A 24v unit. They are also commonly seen on ebay for $500. Sadly even the C7 trucks only have about 13" to work with in the stock location and the 570A unit is 15.5" long......
The electronic manuals have them listed under "Engine Electrical System Schematic" - they have the internal transmission wiring harness schematic also.
The A1+ trucks don't have a bell-housing pickup. The ECM is generating the RPM internally using the top and bottom camshaft timing sensors. Your choices are to pin the ECM chassis connector to get the dedicated tach drive much like we do to gain access to the cruise control functions, or use the...
The A1+ trucks don't have any provision for a tach except the J1939. The dedicated tach output from the ECM is not pinned much like the cruise control is not pinned. Since these trucks have no hand throttle they have no need of a tach. The A1+ winch trucks don't have the tach they just have a...
IDK there's some confusion as to the N1307 vs the N1307-1
The "-1" calls for the N3109 but the other just calls for "remote mounted regulator" and this listing on ebay shows the N1307 kit that comes with the N3215B:

And yes - I'm sure on a non-C7 truck it...
Have you gone through the troubleshooting manual and done the tests on the alternator itself?
Your ECM has a dedicated tach driver output so using the alternator VR is not necessary.
It looks fairly impossible on my M1079 without cutting out the frame rail and welding it back in. I'll look again though since that would be an excellent idea to do so.
Assuming it had 15w40 in the transmission already, then no. That should work fine. The military did switch to using Dex VI (synthetic is an option) in the 3700SP on the newer A1P2 trucks. FWIW. I switched mine over to mil spec synthetic Dex VI along with using about 3-4 additional gallons to...
Engine and transmission software is a more involved topic. The WABCO ABS is relatively easy but all three require paid software - there is a military version of CAT "ET" (Electronic Technician) that's floating around. The Allison software is a real PITA - they have it heavily locked down.
For...

Not sure on sources for those. But the part numbers should give you an idea of the design.
The N1307 requires a remote mounted regulator. The alt you have pictured there doesn't appear to have a regulator or the harness so it doesn't have an excite terminal. That is literally the bare alternator - windings and rectifier, etc. Sans electronics.
I can't find any mention of what that...
My primary meter is the Agilent (HP) U1252A which is what the military uses in the SWICE kits and I don't see fluctuations like that on normal DC voltage settings. Fluke may be faster I'm not sure - but I am using a $600 meter (the newest version being the 1252B which is $650)....... I would...
These alternators have a lot of ripple. Niehoff considers it normal and it's an effect of the slow brushless response.
15v-16v is too high. But the fluctuation is normal - really need an oscilloscope. DVOM is not a great tool for this job. Even an analog meter is better that that digital mess...
