The stock M715 axles are considered “weak” by modern built axle standards. I have a Detroit locker in my rear axle and did dry pavement burnouts with the 38” tall Michelin XZL tires. The ”weak” part is the outer u-joints of the front axle. If you turn the wheel full lock to one direction, have...
I know options are many. I had a Big Block 396 in mine for a few years and a 6.2 diesel for the last 9 years. You asked about starters and seemed determined to use your Chevy engine with everything else being left alone. So I didn’t do a sales pitch about anything but the 24 volt stuff.
If you...
I also have to agree that the Tornado is a good engine when operated at reasonable rpms and good maintenance. I got rid of mine because of massive rear main seal leakage.
Does your engine have the bell housing starter mount or the block mount? Here is a bell housing mount 24 volt:

If yours is block mount. Figure out if it is a straight or angled bolt mount. Then search...
The turbo does amazing things to the diesel engine. Installation is really very simple if you get the entire kit with the exhaust included. The hardest part for a stock 6.2 conversion in my opinion will be getting the set screw out of the block for the pressurized oil feed. Everything else is...
I towed the M715 behind the Cowdog to the Rally last weekend. Here is part 1 and 2 of a video I made during the drive showing the Compushift display, boost gauge, EGT gauge and water/meth controller:
I couldn’t get it in the video. But, my coolant temps would rise to 215°-217°. Then my...
I don't know the output size of the turbo. I do know the cross over manifold part has an inside diameter of 2.87 inches. That is such an odd size for a pipe. The single O-ring is very, very thick. I would imagine the turbo output is no more than 2.5 inches. Since the air leaving the turbo...
I thought everything on the column only fit where it was intended to go?
The one with the most wires, all 14 gauge or so is the blinkers. The one with the really thick wires is the ignition switch. The flat one smaller than the flat blinker one is the wipers. The 3 wires in a triangle is...
I don't know what kind of speed my Cowdog can run towing the M715 tomorrow so I plan to leave home around 1530. That way I can creep along at 45 where I know all will be well if needed and still get there at a reasonable hour. I'm hoping for cruise set at 62 mph. Anyone going faster on 21...
The fuel fired heater will give you lots of heat NOW. The coolant filter works good once the engine is warmed up but that could take close to an hour or more at just idle.
