Looing for bids/info/suggestions for moving my 1988 Humvee from zip code 61727 (Illinois) to Anchorage Alaska.
I am in the process of moving my son's 2007 Saturn ION there now. Hoping it arrives next week.
But, I'm concerned about this one as the width of the truck and if it sits for 3 to 4...
So...it has been a little while since I last did it. You will need to get an air fitting to the clutch to lock it in place. That will allow you to get the nuts out after you align the holes between the inner/outer of the clutch assembly. You'll leave the fan blade in the housing (just set it...
The second time I did it - I realized it was best accomplished through the passenger side of the radiator fan shroud. Not a lot of fun, but you can get that off, do what you have to do in that limited space and slide it back in.
I'm going to revive this old thread - because I have the bug again. Just came back from a week in Alaska where I took my son to three different glaciers. One was a hike, one was a snowmobile access...and one we did in a Polaris side by side (I'll put some video links below if anybody wants to...
I let my 16 year old son drive it to school today...hopefully other than putting a few miles on it...he didn't "DO" any unscheduled modifications to it! He will be 17 in a few days....
Here is what I did in more detail - and you'll see it is on the CHEAP - but amazing sound. I bought this 8" bluetooth first:
Amazon.com: Sound Storm Laboratories BTB8 ATV UTV Weatherproof Sound System - 8 Inch Speakers, 1 Inch Tweeters, Amplified, Bluetooth, Aux-In, Easy Installation for 12...
Anybody have source for quality rubber/steel shimmed style valve cover gaskets?
Mine are leaking...and since it looks like a pain in the butt to do...I don't want to do it again.
Looks like the injector lines have to come off for access - anything else?
I then have to bleed them to get it to...
I went with a simple 8" bluetooth speaker system - ended up taking the speakers and electronics/amp out of the original tube and built a box on the ceiling. I have a magnet mount to my phone on the dash and just play all my music straight from my phone - easy peasy...no extra stuff.
Got the new old stock OE buckets in there this weekend. You can't get the bucket seat base for the driver seat (new) anymore - so I had to modify the commander seat base. worked out okay. I had some scrap steel that worked perfection. Ran out of MIG gas - so had to run on flux...so welds...
Got the factory bucket seats last night. They are like new. I have all I need to install but the driver seat mount has to be fabricated. Hopefully this weekend I'll get them in. The office seats have been great though to this point. If they were the right color and just a tad more...
That makes sense. The blind spots are awful. I may have a solution soon. Oh, and I have four military buckets coming to replace the amazing unique and unbelievable cool office chairs. 😎
There is a vendor on Amazon that sells the mirrors for $150...and the bracket (out of aluminum) for $230.
Seems odd to pay so much for for the bracket than the mirror - and the door has to stay on to work.
Seems the passenger mirror is an issue no matter what for swing of the door against...
I realize the door could/will hit the mirror. However, it does that now with the factory mirrors as the door strap catch grabs it right at the point it hits the mirror. Not too worried about that.
I was just checking this out - both the H1 style mirror and the Jeep mirror. Thing is - I run doorless most the time - and need the pillar mount. Any thoughts to what would happen if those H1 mirror were pushed forward to the hinge pillar? Or...on those Jeep mirrors...what about welding a...
so...I'm second guessing it to some degree. I've been able to rack up some miles in it now. As said before...No worse than the stock ones in terms of ride...but they are also NO BETTER. I think I'm going to seek out different buckets. Leaning to trying out some Fiero seats. Plus the older...
