I do like the idea of going with an air direr with purge but dealing with all the metric to AN to SAE fittings, hard lines, CARC paint all seems like an alternative to waterboarding. That being said I think from my limited understanding of the drier set-up, the trailer tank could be used as the...
It is possible you just got a bad tank of fuel. Fill stations have had fuels mixed up and you get a gas/diesel blend. Also algae/water will make it smell weird too. I might just drain all the fuel off and try just a 5 gal pail of known good diesel before I go too far down other roads. Good...
That was my assumption that it is time for a rebuild. The kits are available so here I go! Next is whether or not to keep the alcohol system or go to an air drier setup with a purge valve. It looks like it is about the same money as buying a new Mog set-up. Of course I am sure it will take...
So forgive my overall inexperience with air brake systems but when your trucks are running does your unloader valve constantly bleed off at the bottom whenever the truck is running, whether or not it is at the set pressure? I am trying to get to the bottom of the slow pressure build up in my...
Take a look at our blog article which gives you the details on the tech... https://paradoxbydesign.com/blogs/news/the-humvee-diesel-engine-cooling-paradox but for your comments specifically, GM started putting in a system like ours with the LS based engines. GM calls it a steam vent pipe, but...
We dropped the ball on this one. I have been overseas for several days and the guys back at the shop messed up. Heads will roll when I get back. For now we are overnight shipping the package this AM. There is no excuse for this.
On the parts failure point...torque is the issue and 6.5T engines make a ton of it. I doubt that much will change on that mark, in fact it will likely be lower TQ and higher HP. Driving style will have more to do with it.
We will be out of the full CUCV kits for 4-6 weeks. The Hybrid kits, 2-3 weeks. After we get back in stock we should be good for the remainder of the summer. You should be good on a kit later on when budget allows.
Guys we are nearing the end of our current run of kits and I know a lot of us are prepping for hot summer driving. So I wanted to make sure my SS brethren get first shot at the last few remaining kits. We have a few 6.2/6.5 kits left and down to one 6.5 Turbo kit before we will be out for a...
Guys we are tooling up for another batch but until they are ready we are down to only two full CUCV kits and two CUCV-Hybrid (with HMMWV crossover) kits. I wanted to give my SS brethren first crack before they are gone with summer here and all!
You are correct, except not all head gasket failures share oil/coolant, also not all head gasket leaks go into the combustion chamber. It all depends on how and where the gaskets/block/head fails. In his case he was venting combustion pressures into the coolant jacket around a failed...
We are the SS vendor who developed and sells the Paradox By Design Cooling System Upgrade kits. There are 50+ members on here with HMMWVs and CUCVs and civilian 6.2/6.5 trucks as well running our kits. The system does not reduce the overall system temperatures much at all as mentioned but you...
The total amount of flow we adjust is not a lot. We spent a lot of time testing and adjusting until we found the right amount to flow to truely balance the temps.
It sounds like a reseal to me too. Not too hard to do, just time consuming. Make sure to install the seals wet, not dry. Keeps them from being damaged as you reassemble.
