I’ve noticed some light leaks around some of the power steering / transmission cooler lines. I tightened up the hose clamps for now but I want to replace the lines as they’re probably due anyway. Are the hose-clamped lines any special type? Or will the same diameter hose from the auto parts...
Got the coupla test fitted and it’s perfect :P Going to fab up some ammo can holders for the sides and a cup holder for the inside of the turret assembly.
Final steps are doors (I’ve been told they should be shipping this week), a paint job, then a few other small cosmetic and mechanical items...
Part of it was for experimental purposes, the other part of it was to try to shut it up a little and see what kind of difference changing the timing actually makes.
The other truck I was working on had it retarded waaaay back when we first got it, several mm to the passenger side, and that...
To be honest I can't really attest to losing much at all, at least from what I can notice. Still gets up to speed plenty fast when stepping on it. I only moved it from just left of the mark to just right of the mark. Still pretty close to the center for what it's worth.
Yippeee, finally have the ring finished and in its final place. I've got the hatch mounted up to test fit, spins freely and my ring takes the weight without issues.
This took a good bit of measuring by the seat of my pants, test fitting, fabrication, and welding, but the end result is fantastic...
For what it's worth for anyone that comes across this, I retarded my timing to be on the passenger side of the mark, rather than the driver side. I can say that the truck definitely does not clack as much after changing it. It's still there but I'm fine with what it's like at this point. Turning...
Finally got around to this, great recommendation. Hard to cut but worth it. I found that dragging a sharp razor blade along a straightedge like a square tube makes it easy to score. Once you score it, bend the edge over the end of a table and cut it until you’re all the way through.
Did the...
I’m in the same boat, not a fan of the military floor mats and a new set is $700 from the usual vendors that supply AMG parts. I tried to see if WeatherTech had any custom products but they weren’t too helpful.
Haven’t looked into it further than that since I don’t even have doors yet, would be...
Anything to do with the start system at this point gives me shivers lol, after that entire start switch fiasco a while back. Still need to make a basic start switch write-up since I'm sure others will encounter what I dealt with.
I think I can make it act intermittently like you said by trying...
And for our regularly scheduled programming of "It's always something", I've recently started seeing bizarre shift behavior:
Here is a quick video of what's going on:
About 2 weeks ago, I was driving the truck around 45MPH, it was in 4th gear with low RPMs. As I'm driving, the RPM suddenly...
Some updates for everyone:
I won a parts truck on 10/26, got the release form today on 11/8. The EUCs themselves have been clearing pretty quickly
I also procured a MEP-804B Generator recently, no EUC required but I did request the SF97 for it. The SF97 took about 3 weeks after having received...
Yep I read all the goodies and made sure not to flip the frequency switch while running. The gauge is still acting up, and I think I might have it ruled out to be the gauge itself.
We checked the frequency transducer per the TMs and it was within specifications for all current values during the...
Just called them for fun, they say that the batch mine is in was due back by the end of last month, so at this point it's officially considered delayed. They supposedly received an update from the Marine Corps saying they'll be sending some back soon, not holding my breath though.
Yea.. is...

yea... they told me the same thing, and I've been waiting for the batch that mine is in to come back since August 31st :(
they're definitely backed up pretty far
