What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Great job! When/if I get mine I plan on being the same way, helping people!

Took my Bobbed Deuce down the 1/4 mile track today... (timeslips inside)

I think it'd be interesting with a stock Deuce or M939 series 5 ton...

    What's your Deuces' name?

I didn't end up actually buying it, but there was a '68 M35A2 I was seriously considering that I instantly dubbed as the "Lawn Ornament" since I was/am an entering college student who still doesn't drive yet and it would have thus sat for a year or two at the very least. Otherwise, it would...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

LOL yeah, there's always the fuel issue. Planning on getting an A2 variant with the 8.3 Cummins so I'll theoretically get as much as 12MPG, which is OK for a daily driver I guess. At least now it looks like I won't have a long commute, at one point it looked like I might have a 200 mile round...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Spyderman, so is the 5 ton your only vehicle now? I've literally considered a M939 series cargo truck as my first/thus daily driver. (18 y/o entering college student). Am I certifiably insane? rofl

    Hello From Mississippi

Personally I see no reason why not as long as you're qualified to handle the truck. In my case when I get one it will probably be my first vehicle anyway, so of course it would go everywhere I went. Including probably parking it on campus, no joke.

Painting my m35a2 think the color is off.

    Fine looking truck there, Smckerigan!

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yeah, it's good you offered your services though! As far as excuses to get her out on the road, when I get mine (also looking for a 923A2 or 925A2) I'm pretty sure it will be more or less a daily driver...possibly on a long-distance commute at that. People think I'm crazy but I think I'll be...

Super76, do you do a lot of parades?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Super76, that is one clean looking truck!

    New Texas member here.

Welcome to the site! That's pretty neat you got a '58 gasser, they're seemingly a little less common. They are really fun trucks without a doubt. As far as no brakes, I feel for you, I had driving a stick shift introduced to me in a M49 with no brakes! (not driving, but riding...

    Hello From Mississippi

Welcome to the site! As an entering college student myself, I can sympathize and feel your pain. Best of luck! If you have space, a currently-non-runner/project/lawn ornament truck might be a good bet since it sounds like you're definitely mechanically inclined. Think it would be a daily...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Johnny, I hope it works out for you soon! I vote M927A2 as the next non-"normal" daily driver.

    Newbie/POSSIBLE Future '71 Deuce Owner, from Alaska/California

Great "Pickups", they do make! Firewood, trips to the lumberyard, etc. Might be also be actively helping remodel/flip a house while living up there, and having wood heat, so it would come in handy I think. Plus that "Cool" factor. Fairbanks, AK itself has a pretty good bus system from what...

    Newbie/POSSIBLE Future '71 Deuce Owner, from Alaska/California

OK, so here's the deal as of now, the better part of a year later (It just made me realize how high my post count is already!). The story gets even weirder. So the truck ended up being a civvy flatbed (was convinced it was a Deuce from the description), BUT, there's a '68 M35A2 I'm going to try...

    My first MV 1993 M35A3

Looks good! That's pretty cool you'll be daily-driving this one! I'm possibly trying to pursue a '68 M35A2...as a first vehicle and daily driver.

    Memphis to southen miss 3/29

That is kind of unusual IMO! You'd think it'd be noticeable!

    Memphis to southen miss 3/29

Remind me, what's the backstory behind the hole in the block and the destruction of the transfer case?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    Wow, that's terrifying!

    Deuce as daily driver?

Sounds like what my situation might be, I'm currently considering a '68 myself, as my first vehicle (18 y/o) and yup, most of my driving would probably happen at 50MPH on the freeway, knowing where I'd be driving.
