I was thinking of taking all the panels off and putting in some better insulation in the form of panels. I think my box is in pretty good shape but I just got my vehicle a few months ago so I'm no expert. Spray foam would work for sure but if you ever have to remove it would be a pain.
Love your setup and all the work you have done. I recently got my first military vehicle M109A3. Your build has given me some inspiration, can't wait to get to it but a lot happening right now so in a month I will have a lot more time to dedicate to her. Fantastic work and if I have any...
Thanks and that's a good way to split this up for sure and I will follow your advice, much appreciated sir! Which picture are you referring to so I know what to take a look at and provide more information for the pinion seal?
So I took a look into the gas tank today, didn't have time for much else. Was busy with a retaining wall I am building for our fire pit out back (we're on a slope over the water) to level the area a bit more than it currently is. That's been an ongoing project for a few weeks now and hopefully...
Just got my deuce and looking into this as one of the things I need to take a look at as well. Like to make sure I uncover everything so I at least know it's done by someone recently and I don't have to worry about it and of course love to learn how to do things and maybe I can help someone else...
Yes I was thinking about converting it over at some point but first gotta get her running and do several upgrades. Lots to work on this year! I'll get a shot of the fuel tank this weekend and check that out. I imagine if there is some in there I would need to drain it out and treat the diesel, I...
Yes sir that's the second one I have on the list to check. Tactical repair on YouTube is a great resource for the how to, but this community really knows their stuff so much appreciate any advice I can get. Hope to have an update here in a short while.
Ok took some pictures this morning while I had a few minutes. I didn't see anything except on the radiator area. Not sure what the white powder is exactly. I think he drained it earlier and it was pulled out while he was trying to work on it. I'll need to secure it as it was loose this morning...
Thanks, yes I got some physical ones as well just for quick reference just in case I'm not nearby a phone, tablet, computer etc..The previous owner said he bought it about a year ago and drove it for about 5 min and then it just shut off. Couldn't get it working but he has 2 other military...
Well I've had it for a month now and I haven't driven it yet. One because there is no start, supposed fuel issue somewhere in there. Got a new battery as I arc welded a battery post when I pushed the box back in the terminal came loose but was still making contact...oops!
She's in pretty good...
Hey all been reading the forums here while researching military vehicles and just pulled the trigger on an M109A3 that will be towed out here in a few weeks. Something with it not starting but cranking so will have to get my hands in there and will be asking for help I'm sure. Glad to be part...
