M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

This is a 7/2012 Red River Army Depot rebuild, so it has a newer divorced regulator. I do not have a pic of mine, but it looks just like Artisan's

Trailer needed to haul a M1074 from OH to VA

I won a M1074 in OH. I need to transport it to Richmond, VA. I own a M916, but do not have a trailer capable of hauling the M1074. The M1074 PLS is 129" tall, 36 feet long, and 96" wide. It weighs 55,000. If my math is correct the trailer deck height cannot be over 30". I do have the...

M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

New Update So I have been waiting for the shop in Jacksonville, FL to get a new regulator. They called on Thursday and said the shop went out of business. I drove from Richmond, VA to FL on Friday not knowing what I would find when I got there. We arrived at 6PM on Friday to find the...

    Charging Batteries

I just picked up an M916 from Texarkana TX. The voltage regulator is bad so it would not charge the batteries while driving. We used 2 sets of jumper cables every night to recharge the batteries from the dual battery chase truck. The chase truck is 12 volt only, so the 24/12 volt battery pack...

M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

Because the Allison transmission was added, and the rebuild in 2012... many things are NOT as described in the TM's. The batteries are wired per the TM with the addition of an extra wire that goes to the Allison transmission. I looked at the dash headlight switch, and it does have indications...

Gov Planet Pick Up / Texarkana

I picked up my "new" M916 last month. getting clearance to get on base was time consuming but went smooth. The GP rep there is great! Interesting side note while waiting for my clearance to get on base, a truck driver wearing a turban, and fitting the "profile." was there and did not want to...

M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

My experience so far with GP personnel has been night and day different than with the liquidators. GP personnel have gone out of their way to help, and be accommodating. The other auction not so much.

M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

Sorry for the delayed response. I flew into Texarkana TX. Rented a car. Drove to Red River Army Depot (RRAD). Where the M916 was completely rebuilt July 2012. The Auction Rep was the greatest. He picked me up at the gate and drove me to the truck. They had filled it with fuel and put in 4...

M916 maiden voyage from Texarkana TX to Richmond VA

I just got the EUC approved, so I am off to get the new M916 from Texarkana TX. I will hopefully be able to drive it off the lot/base, do some preventative maintenance locally in Texarkana, and then the plan is to drive to Jacksonville FL to pick up a MK14 trailer. If I haven't pushed my luck...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I think I read at the beginning of this thread that Soni was looking for a way to get more low end gearing on the FEMTT. I ended up with an extra Oshkosh two speed 55000 transfer case if Soni or anyone else needs one. New in 2008 still in the military crate.
