Had a fun evening with Simp5782. It was quite a loadout, I almost have a loading dock in the old school bus turn around. A little shovel work to make some holes for the trailer to back down into and some study 4X4s along with some awesome backing led to a generator loaded onto a trailer. Simp...
I sold mine for $5,500 and it looked like this. Certainly not a museum piece but it had 95% or better Firestone T831 tires on it, spin on filters all around, new canvas over the cab and cargo area, fiberglass uprights. Maintenance on the truck included annual hub servicing, all fluids changed...
I agree with goldneagle! My personal truck is a M939A0 but I have plenty of experience with A2 trucks and the fans operate very much the same. You will know for certain when it is truly engaged!
Looks great! I sold my standard M35A2 for the exact same price. It did have some awesome tires but the box adds about as much value depending on your intentions. Awesome tires are not everything though, included are some pictures of how things look good and how awesome tires can make it look bad.
I said I would nominate a truck in my yard!! This one left a few years ago but I would like to nominate Swamp Donkeys M923!!! I am sure he has a better picture as I have watched his progress from afar.
I am NOT nominating the truck in the attached picture as he won May of 2015 so he is ineligible. I am just tossing the picture up in hopes of inspiring others to nominate their trucks. Sarge was the first CUCV to win and he was running against some very nice trucks that month to include a HET...
They tow just fine. This trailer weighs about 11,000 pounds and the truck hardly notices it. I should handle your boats or other vehicles without issue. Welcome to the hobby and keep in mind, these trucks are herd vehicles. I do not know many members here with just one.
Brandon,
I am glad you made it home safely! The NHC250 in the M923 notices it slightly but that trailer made it to 72 mph for most of the ride home and towed fine at 2,100 rpm. No noticeable smoke indicated by trail vehicle during the initial recovery.
Ron did build a nice truck. I will never discount the amount of work required to mount a MK 15 Wrecker Body onto an M1070A1. It basically looks like a factory made truck and is likely a very capable wrecker. I also think you put alot of time and work into the HEMMT and certainly in such a...
We have taken quite a few into state parks in GA, even louder ones such as Deuces. I think a stock M939 series truck would not cause anyone to bat an eye in a state park due to noise. They would likely be drawn to the truck out of curiosity or photo ops.
AMG and Jennifer are rolling just fine. They ate a late supper over here, Jennifer and Lee spoiled my boys and all is well. Brandon got hooked to his trailer rather quickly but I started talking a little and he got hungry!!! Good Thing , Lee is a good cook and we had warm leftovers! Jen got...
Sarcastically, Read the F´ing Manual! I am not here to answer stuff pointed out in the TM! In reality, I am not sure. My experience only involves use of the mechanical pressure gauge version that displays air pressure when you release the handle.
My question is ¨Do you value CTIS?¨ Only reason I ask is the Marines never really had M939A2 trucks. They may have used some signed over from the Army but never truly adopted the platform. I have worked at a facility for years and have never seen one in the system and they did not acknowledge...
325 Thundering Springs Road, Leesburg, GA, 31763. My GPS stops at Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Go just past that and take the dirt road to the right. 1/2 mile on it and you will realize you are at the right spot. Easy giveaway will be the CUCV, M1102, M105, M923, 2 M322 trailers and...
In the National Guard, we often just pull two opposite bearing caps bolts at the differential end of the driveshaft. Then going side to side with a sand mallet, we get the bearing caps out and removal becomes much easier. It's good to know there is a specific tool out there. Would you have a...
Pressurize the fuel tank or perform the dreaded prime by ether. Both methods work but many people on here do not like starting fluid. It got a horrible reputation back in the day when sprayed from the can. On a cold day, my M923 will run the batteries down if I try to start on diesel alone...
Alot of nice trucks this month as always! Looks like it is a battle between the big boys. I have to sway towards Ken this month though, he helped me just today through a phone call in dealing with an upset MK 48. His advice helped me to locate the solenoid that controls the hydraulically...
