Question for the people who have used the water and solvent based carc paints. Is the water based actually smoother than the solvents? I read that on the Sherwin-Williams website, and having trouble talking with someone who has actually used both there. I like the rough sandpaper grit finish...
Bulldogger.... Absolute excellent part replacement for the drain plug. I broke mine in half last night taking out the fuel, and i remembered this post i came across... You saved me a 3 day wait and absolutely chose a better drain plug. Every m998 should use that!
Anyone in here ever fit a Cummins QSB6.7 in their m998? I am eyeing a few for sale and wanted to get some opinions on it, if anyone has converted to a QSB. Thanks
I just bought myself a m998 and waiting for the euc to clear. Luckily i employ a electrical engineer at my company. Since i am possibly weeks from being cleared, if you could send me a high res photo of the pcb, my EE can start to analyze.

I am interested in doing the same thing as the poster on my 1987 M998 with the 6.5. I looked at all the engines that were made for humvee's and would like to upgrade to one of these:
6.5 L turbo GM Diesel V8/GM 4L80-E 4-speed
or
6.6 L turbo Duramax LLY V8 turbo Diesel/Allison 1000...
