What a long, grueling 24 hour wait for the silicone to cure on the driver side spindle slot for the silicone boot repair job. I knew I should have bought more Permatex (The Right Stuff). That stuff cures in minutes. Anyhow, after a few honey-do errands this morning I added fluid to the front...
Spent a few hours this afternoon after the rainstorm changing out the driver side axle boot. The silicone boot lasted since December 2012. Ran out of daylight, but I'll finish it tomorrow morning.
Here is winch install post #2.
Notes:
1) The brush guard is bolted to the top of the frame as well as to the side supports. It doesn't move AT ALL.
2) I still have minor sheet metal and some rubber sheeting to do around the headlight buckets. Air through the intercooler/radiator not around...
I had to break up the winch install into 2 separate posts because I took 15 pictures. Each post can only have 10.
Notes:
1) Steve6x6x6 made the 10 inch bumper extensions and inner frame pieces. Yes I know some bolts are missing.
2) Reinforced inside of bumper at the bottom with angle for...
Don't take offense to us getting the job done yesterday. I sure didn't mean any. The mechanical work should be completed in a week or so. Then I will hit you up for paint of the deuce + M105A2 trailer.
Jeff, the winch work is now complete. When I have more time this afternoon I will...
Jeff, the top section of the bumper was already coped out to account for the front of the winch. If we flipped it over we would have to cope out again. I made the executive decision to cut out for the roller/fairlead. The inside bottom section of the bumper will be reinforced to replace the...
I can't bolt the fairlead directly in front of the winch. You can see the holes don't line up. If I lower the fairlead and mount it on the bumper it will have to be several inches lower than it would be if it was mounted directly on the winch. My concern is if I put the fairlead that low and...
Time for some people here to voice an opinion on mounting the roller/fairlead to the Warn 18k winch.
2 options:
1) Mount the roller/fairlead to the bumper. To do this the roller/fairlead would be much lower than if mounted directly to the winch. Shown in first 4 pics.
2) Mount the...
Put the original transfer case back in and topped it off with just under 7 quarts of Traveller SAE 80W-90 lube from Tractor Supply. Drove the truck 10 miles to my buddy's house to finish the brush guard installation. Hit 50 mph on some back roads and it never popped out of high gear.

For my hydroboost brake setup I installed a brake pressure switch in the Ford master cylinder (bottom) port. It's normally the port for the cruise control kill switch.
The switch is NAPA part number ECH SL147. It is pretty much the only pressure switch for newer style master cylinders that is...
Anybody know where to buy the SHELL SPIRAX A 80W-90 listed above? I can't find it on NAPA, O'Reillys, etc. websites. Looking to use it in my deuce transfer case. Or a suitable alternate.
Here's my list of M35A2 parts. All are make offer. I'm not out to swindle anybody. My wife would like to park 2 vehicles in the garage at some point. aua
Factory hood from my bobber. Swapped to a longer gasser hood to fit my Cummins engine swap.
Non-springer driver seat with seat belt...
My bobbed deuce was stuck in the same spot in my driveway for 14 months during the engine swap. Does that count?
I am driving it now for those that are wondering. A few minor details to sort out before I post pics/videos.
Spent the better part of today making the 5 ton spare tire rack fit behind the cab. This made the truck just under 11 feet tall. Actually 10'-6" if I remember correctly.
Notes:
1) Please don't point out any OSHA violations on the bed lift.
2) I plan on making the passenger side toolbox 9...
Although I haven't hit the bottom of my deuce doors I have removed the passenger side step a time or two and came up under the "L" bracket once. Now THAT hurt and it left a scar on my back for a while. Very sharp corners on those 2 "L" brackets. This goes for both side steps, fuel tank, and any...
Dropped the bumper extensions and winch plate off at a machine shop to get all of the holes drilled. For as many holes as I want on those brackets this guy doesn't hit me up for too much cash. It works out to be about $0.75 per hole. I bet it's all of 60 holes total. I'll count all of them...
Catching up on modifications. See pictures below:
1) Finished shot of the instrument cluster wiring before installation in the dash. Dual row barrier strips with jumper strips from radio shack help clean up the wiring connections.
2) Dash picture showing the 3 battery voltmeters. Top meter...
So what harm would there be to take out the transfer case shift shaft and cut grooves for the low gear and high gear locations where the detent ball should fit just like the neutral location? This would replace the tapered sections for selecting low & high gears. That would keep the shaft from...
