    Members in Northern Virginia?

I'm up for something, schedule permitting. I'm fairly well booked for October myself due to family stuff, but November is more open. My son and I have done a few such gatherings and like showing up in a non-typical vehicle. Prefer something not too far from Fairfax myself. Bulldogger

Gas pedal hard to press Normal?

Well, without a reference it could just be the difference between a utility truck and civvy truck. I do drive with my leg, not rocking my ankle, so to speak. We’ll see what our new member comes back with. Bulldogger

Gas pedal hard to press Normal?

I recommend some Googling for Stanadyne DB2 injection pump information. There are several troubleshooting and info pages around. I can't remember the source I referred to, so don't have a specific link. I assume your rig has the DB2, it is common to the 6.2L (especially) and most 6.5L as...

Gas pedal hard to press Normal?

Definitely not. If it sat a very long tie the injection pump might be gummed, but this sounds like something else. Have someone push on it while you inspect visually. If you raise the hood and pull yourself up w the steering wheel you can see some of the linkage. Sounds like an obstruction...

    Picked up a $500 m1009 Sh*tbox. No key? Hotwire?

Reach out to hrbergeron on this site. He had one in rough but not that bad shape (i'd say way better than yours) he was trying to move a couple of months ago. Might still have it. He's in NOVA, so not far away from you. BDGR

    Geared Hub Leaking

Seals often give up after several years, I’ve replaced several of mine and other friend’s. If you haven’t opened and inspected each of your hubs I strongly recommend it. The TM will walk you through it. Check those bearings. If a seal is bad it might let water in to do its dirty work on the...

    PLEASE make it start

It sounds to me like you have corrosion or breaks inside the jacket of the battery cables. It’s not that expensive to replace them and eliminate that as a potential cause. I’ve bought a lot of old vehicles and have replaced many a battery cable. Bulldogger

power steering pump part#? 87' HMMWV with 6.2 non turbo

I’d replace all your piping as a precaution. Make sure it’s high pressure power steering tubing, not fuel or oil tubing. I further recommend using fuel injection style clamps, instead of hose clamps. I’ve had good results with them and they don’t cut into the outer jacket the way Mr Gasket style...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Is that an ambulance top Coug? Tall innit? Bulldogger

New to me M116A2, former TPQ-36(v)7 Radar Trailer

Many thanks Coug, that's exactly what I needed. I got confused due to the multiple designations in the file name/title. Double thanks for the part #, looks relatively easy to obtain. This has all I need. BDGR

New to me M116A2, former TPQ-36(v)7 Radar Trailer

Picked up from CARMAN this weekend. Looking forward to a hopefully quick rehab and putting it to use. Much lighter than my M101 and once repaired will have surge brakes. I’ll be doing some searching here to find the part number for the brake reservoir and master cylinder. Fingers crossed the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Looks good. I tried to make my own using flat stock to make a sort of open end wrench, but it wouldn't grip tight enough and wouldn't turn the piston. Then I used a C clamp and channel lock pliers. It was NOT pretty when I was done, but I got it done... Yours is much better than mine. BDGR

    Axle Boots measurements

Nothing to report. As has been mentioned, I really need access to a Deuce and preferably my own mock-up to test fit and refine the design on. It would be an endless series of blind tries, making tweaks and mailing it off for a stranger to fit. Can't imagine finding success. I'm busy now w...

Neat! If that holds up I bet you could sell those! *hint hint*

    Hmmwv 6.5 starting problems

Which alternator do you have? 60 amp, 100 amp or 200 amp? Different troubleshooting for each of those. The voltage regulator may be able to be adjusted. Most of the time it is replaced though, in my experience. It sounds like you have more than one problem, though they may be interconnected...

    Hmmwv 6.5 starting problems

Does sound like the glow plug controller. There are several threads on the site you can search out. The motor is common to both HMMWV and CUCV, so search both sub-forums. There are several options ahead once troubleshooting is done, involving replacing the control box or making a manual glow...

    Graves Mountain Rally August 29-September 2, 2019

Attendance was noticeably down. Pity, as the weather was very good save Sunday night where the rain was noteworthy. Still, it was much better weather than some years, whether rain or drought and heat. Few sales at the swap meet too. But this Rally isn't one for major swap activity...

Something a little different here. Military Watches.

Neat! For a while I wore antique wind up watches. Then I started carrying a phone and it has the time on it, so I stopped wearing a watch. I still have five of them, if I recall correctly. My favorite is the 1964 Movado Triple Stop Calendar, though it is original and valuable so I rarely...

Cabell, when can you post the VHF/CB Freq's and call signs for the rally? We're KJ4SET, capable range 30-79.9MHz Limited to 4W (until I get a vehicle mounted antenna, then 20W!). Bulldogger
