A thread about opening and cleaning the gauges-
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/gauge-repair-question.48610/
But ! There are no lights in the gauges themselves, they get illumination from the bulbs on the panel. That is one reason the bulbs are mostly covered on the front side. Cleaning...

The wheel adapters are cool ! As is your idea for the towbar adapter !
How far and over what terrain are you moving the containers ? Are they full or empty ?
I ask, because I just spent a couple of weekends moving a 40' high cube insulated one around, it was empty with a weight of about 8000...
I was going to post some of the relevant threads, but there are a ton of them! If you want to read through some, go to Google and search on :

I checked a couple, just to verify my memory and experiences with my truck.
With properly adjusted bearings...
Erik's has decent prices and a good selection.

Cheaper deals do come up from time to time from the other parts places or auction houses.
Or from some of the electrical supply houses in large quantities.
If the wiring is really shot, you can get...
Absolutely keep the air protection valve ! (Saved my a$$ when the regulator died in heavy traffic).
I've also thought about another air tank. It is a bunch of back and forth for me to get my truck tucked into its parking space, and I often have to take a break for the air to catch up. A clean...
It's been awhile, but here are the things I remember.
If you've got a heater on the fender, its inconvenient. I should have just pulled the heater out for the install.
Drilling the hole in the frame rail sucked, spend the money for a really good metal cutting hole saw.
The little black plastic...
Most of the big electronic parts houses will have those parts. However, it is really hard to change that old part number into a current part spec, there are about a million different options for the round mil-spec connectors. An example supplier-...
According to the 1965 operator's manual (TM9-2320-209-10) the newer engine manuals for the OA-331 are -
Maintenance TM9-2805-222-35
Parts TM9-2805-222-35P
I only saw one source in a Google search to buy a paper copy. Couldn't find any .PDFs.
Several sites sell re-prints of TM9 1819A, but again...
I used the NAPA 20611 cross reference (NBH 703-1422) several years ago. Worked fine, if it needed modification, it was very minor. Another cross reference number I found then was Dayco 70689, but I haven't tried that one.
Not to disagree with NDT, but my truck is the same. Former Gasser, probably M26937 on the frame (really hard to read, even cleaned off), but the dash plate and all the paperwork from the military matched and said 1970 date and serial number. I can't find the old thread discussing this, but there...
Poplar will rot fast, and isn't particularly hard. If you're going to use it, soak it well in a good preservative. I'd look for cypress, red wood or one of the tropical hardwoods. Cedar is probably too soft.

One of the tanks on the Air Force deuces is a dual chamber internally.
The manual that describes the split (dual circuit) brake system is -
