Roger that, got it, here is the text from the post. Sorry for the confusion.
The hose barb on the side near the coolant temp sensor wire is correct. The other one on top is not correct. Move it to the lower pipe plug in the last picture, right above the alternator. A picture of that is here:
Hey everyone,
I asked this question in a post submitted by spentshell who was installing a heater, but I think it may have been lost in all the replies and responses.
Does anyone who installed a heater know the NPT pipe thread size of the valve that hooks to the top radiator housing and WP on...
Well, here near Cleveland, we just got about three inches of snow, and once again, I have run out of time for good weather (not that we ever really get that here)
Out of time and now have to work in the cold.
Changing the priorities on the projects: (cost/time/investment/weather)
Heater...
RE: heater install
Does anyone know off hand what the pipe thread sizes are for the heater hose connections to the engine? I never looked that close on mine, but I am sure there are plugs in there. I am going to check out McMaster Carr to see if I can locate the valves.
Thanks
Tommy
RE: heater install

Army,
It's the trip to Cleveland I am worried about, thats a long haul for two young strapping men. That stuff would sure look nice in my cement pad for my pole barn.
On a serious note, RESPECT dad's truck, if that rules the day, all will go well and safe. Is it straight stock, or twisted...
Yes, Don't run straight gas for long, as for the recommended fuel.. it isn't gas. Mix what you already have in the tank with diesel, you may want to throw in some WMO to boot. Don't run straight gas unless in an emergency.
RE: Re: RE: Fuel filters
Hey guys,
Speaking as someone new to the hobby, and somewhat new to SS. I get a lot of great information from this site when people mention vendors and product by name. I have created a rather extensive folder of green iron related links, but it pails to what I have...
John, thanks for the validation. I think I am going to go down the aftermarket path for this truck. I am not too woried about keepiing this one 100% original as I already did the NAPA muffler mod on it. I am more concerned at this point with useability and functionality. Spentshell, I like...
Dk, Yes, these are the heat exchanger with fan units. I would be ok with an electric heater also but haven't seen anything I thought would work well.
I would love to have a stock heater, but the cost is pretty high, and they are far and few inbetween.

Hey all, with winter at hand, has anyone ever used any of these 24v cab heaters, or can suggest any?
