I was comparing the dimensions of the Gama Goat's cargo box...88"long x 81"wide to my 2 man m998...87"long x 83" wide. You could probably get one to fit with some customizing of the bows. Like a short 2 man cargo top
I'm planning to replace the wood with fiberglass. The wood just seems out of place on these trucks. To me, the fiberglass boards are synonymous with the HMMWV.
Seems like the dimensions are way off for the HMMWV top. The side curtains would be 4 foot long and the top would be like 12 foot and it should be 7 foot wide.
I wonder what they are from.
Finally did the drivers high back install.
Found a fire extinguisher that fit this high zoot mount(MRAP?)
Touched up the tailgate and added the conspicuity tape.
Thats crazy. Here in the nation of El Norte, they have a convenient form to fill out to register Military Vehicles for on road use. They accept the MIL-STD-1180B Safety Interface standard. They have no issue with the short VIN. I had everything legal within 24 hours of getting my SF-97
The actual project is a set of cut down seats four man style. I already got the frames cut and welded up. Just need the fiberglass slats. I can make it out of 6 long ones(85"bottoms) and 6 short ones(27" sides)
I considered restoring the wood, and the faux wood fencing, but I am really after...
Has anybody seen a source for the fiberglass replacements? I want to replace my wood ones with the later fiberglass style.
Ive searched the three NSN from the parts catalog with no luck.
I see them offered with the whole frames, and kits, but there are none locally.
They seem to be specific...
I picked up a High Back conversion kit. It gives you a pair of the nicer high backs and a better mount for the drivers side that has more adjustment and travel. you have to drill out the rivets that hold the drivers seat contraptions and remove all that bull****.
It did not seem to interfere with mine.
Auction ended 12/07/18
My first time EUC started 12/11/18 and was approved/DLA letter sent by the 18th.
Got Pickup approval by 01/03/19.
Got truck 01/07/19
SF 97 arrived 01/24/19
Seems like the system was humming along.
Got a bunch accomplished today.
Fluid servicing commenced.
Did the Vampire disease double bypass and got my Baja tires mounted up. Finally, no more lump-lump tires
