    Uses for Deuces

Had 3 deuces on the farm back in KS. One sat there , for "parts" though we could never stand to remove parts from it. I claimed a winch model and took it with me to college in Manhattan, KS, Ames Iowa, and then on to Sioux Falls, SD and used it to pick up lumber, etc. Used it to haul...

    replacement body panels

FWIW, you can go to a local body shop and buy the aftermarket fenders that LMC carries and not have to pay near the shipping. Most large cities have warehouses for the bodyshops and they all get delivery from these warehouses for much less than the shipping from LMC. I got a hood for the...

    winch shear pins-- Cheapest??

My deuce came with the pin sheared. I replaced it with a "roll pin" also sometimes called a "spring pin" They are steel, but hollow. Have not checked the torgue to shear it compared to the aluminum.

    Theft prevention?

All good ideas here. I learned the hard way the need to lock my deuce. It came from Fort Riley and I had it parked on the street in Manhattan KS. Some friends stopped by and said "oh, you're back, we saw you driving the deuce around" I hadn't driven it that day, so I ran outside and it...

OD Iron's Remote Oil Filter...A How To

I would be hard pressed to call JT's a light duty system. It is simpler and has fewer failure points compared to ODI or even my system. I also know, having just sourced materials, that there are better materials out there for a remote mount system, for example push lok hose instead of the low...

OD Iron's Remote Oil Filter...A How To

I should mention, I am not offering this for sale. I have $300 in materials and many hours in machining so there is no way I could do so economically.

OD Iron's Remote Oil Filter...A How To

I am glad you asked. Oil velocity is the speed of the oil traveling through the tube. The pump supplies a certain volume of oil per second which, divided by the tube cross area, gives you the flow velocity. In the case of the Deuce, at 26gpm, that is 100.1 in^3/s This is important because...

OD Iron's Remote Oil Filter...A How To

I thought about that, and e-mailed you twice, but in the end my truck sits for long periods and the oil would drain through the clean side of the filter, or so I thought. This system will also accommodate an accumulator in the future.

OD Iron's Remote Oil Filter...A How To

I read many posts on this forum regarding the oil system and I was uncomfortable with this oil filter system because all of my calculations showed the oil velocity through the single bolt in and single bolt out was way to high. Therefore, I decided to go my own route, but stole many ideas from...
