My 5 ton is a m52a2, but it has a title so I'm sticking to it. The point of this thread was that I was deciding which would be better for my build and figured someone else may have similar conflictions so I simply stated what I discovered. Idk how a m939 series would be easier to work on than a...
Well here I am years later still plugging away at this build. I should have done 2.5 ton bc the truck I bought needs everything a m35 would've needed. Updated braking system, steering system, electrical, air, EVERYTHING is being updated. Im 12 valve swapping it and finding the proper clutch and...
So I found out that I have a 6352 trans, probly gotta rebuild it bc it has oil/grease all over the pilot shaft. Dont know where I'm gonna get everything to do it though. Anyone know why that might be? Thanks fellas.
I finally got the lds pulled, everything was rusted to bits. Scrapped the doors, spare tire rack, winshield, I took off both fenders, steps, fuel tanks, and mudflaps. I have fitment issues with my flywheel housing and flywheel on my 5.9 12 valve.
I bought a chevy 2500 hydroboost brake...

I was talking to a bunch a people on a bunch of forums. It may not have been one of the steel soldiers guys. Either way there were a bunch of nay sayers. I thank the communities for all the input, it got here safely and nobody got hurt/tickets. I'll be happy to post pics of it when im done...
Flat towing, trailer towing, the guys on here were all but certain a regular truck couldn't do it. Honestly i was worried about the dude coming down the mountain with it. Either way, you guys probly saved my ass in more ways than one.
Hi fellas, I'm engine swapping from an lds 465 to possibly a 5.9 12 valve with p pump. What other engines would be a good choice? The 5.9 is fully mechanical no electronics, lets keep it that way.
Bought my first military vehicle today, wes is considering picking it up for me. Cant wait to get it home and torn apart. Im gonna make this thing unstoppable.😁
