I have not been able to fine a leak but have noticed that the compressor doesn't cycle as much when its warmer out. So I thought Iwould service my air dryer. Well it seems that the army has busted the plastic desiccant canister and the aluminum cylinder edge looks to have been attacked by a...
I have used "40" amp rated relays no name China ones that I have had issues with. I took them apart and the contact where pitted and burnt. Had one stuck closed... I have not had this type of issues with the Bosch even though they are rated less. Alot has to do with the diode as the 40 amp...
Them are my fingers...
Reasons I picked those relays are...
1) the diode
2) the color is different between the 12 volt and 24 volt coils
3) the where relatively inexpensive (shop around and Amazon was WAY too high)
4) NOT made in China
5) 5 pin will work in place of 4 pin so less spares to keep.
You know looking at the air diagram I see the fan clutch is also on the wet circuit... Another clue is when I start the fan is on... but the two service tanks has some air in them. It maybe the cab ride height valve leaking. Are these rebuild-able?
I have this tool in my tool box....

It unloads the same when parked or driving. I also hear a noise when the compressor is building pressure but don't know if it normal or not. The tone changes when I turn the steering wheel... I have uber sensitive hearing and hear things most people can't. I know the power steering pump is on...
When I drive down the road I hear the air dyer purging all of the time. About every 2 mins or so. I am in no way an expert on air systems on these trucks but let me tell you what I think I know. The air governor unloads the compressor when it get to the set pressure. That is PCHISS I hear from...
I wished someone told me this was a job for a pro... The hardest part is getting the gasket on the glass... my thumbs still hurt... The TM recommends lube and I will say it helped. A LOT
I find that cats smoke when they are cold and have been sitting for some time. I would get it warmed up and drive it for awhile... If you want to use diesel additive I would recommend Stanadyne Fuel Additives https://promo.parker.com/promotionsite/stanadyne-additives/us/en/home. They make...
Just asking here... I know the fan freewheels with air applied. Dose the solenoid have to be on to apply air? Also you need to have the valve vent to allow the fan to come on. Is the fittings for the valve 1/4" or 3/8" I know the tubing it 1/4" That valve above should allow from all of the above.
I would have to do some research but this may work

this maybe a better choice. It's smaller and only a 3 way to keep thing simple
