Found out why the one tire was flat. Found a razor blade stuck to what was left of the tube. At first I thought it was left in the tire, but found a cut in the tire that looks like it was made by the blade.
Well after looking it over a little harder ,I see that the sides are rusted out bad at the bottom. The army covered the bottom 8-10" of the sides, with bondo on one side and sheet metal patches over the rust on the other side. Gee why fix the rust when you can just hide itaua. So I'm thinking it...
The tires all look good , good tread. But two were/are flat, no vale stems. I'm going to have to brake them down and check the inside, side walls for damage and see if the tube are any good.
Well I brought home another one yesterday:roll:. What was I thinking,
Won it last week from GP out of Ft Riley.
Now what to do with it, I plan on using it for camping at the KAMO Rally.
I'm just not sure what to do about the inside. All the wiring is toast on
the inside, even for the out side...
I work at a bus shop and I had to put 2lbs on a bus tire the other day. It was a recap thought.
At tire shop I use alot if its way off he takes the tire back off and rotates its 180 deg. Some times that help.
40 grams is only 1.5oz , thats not much.
But they just got a new batch of tracks made. With all the CNC stuff and 3D printers , new comsumable parts are right around the coner. There's a guy on here restoring a M151 that is repoping boady panels now. New part for alot of stuff may get easyer to find in the future.
