Was looking for a shop in or near Milwaukee to work on M1008; then did it all myself!

You didn't hear anything under the valve covers, probably not a push rod or your valve train. You didn't listen around the lower end around the oil pan, but the noise seems like it is from the upper end somewhere. You have a rebuilt injection pump, I don't know if you may have an issue with you...

Place it right on the injector not on the fuel line. Place it on the valve covers in different spots.

I have used a mechanics stethoscope with good results. Put it on each injector and listen for any variations. Use it to probe for any exhaust leaks. Place it on valve covers for any internal noises.

It definitely sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Mixing injectors would seem fine to me. I am not aware of any reason that it would be a problem. Keep your chin up,try not to stress, everything will work out for you. Things only affect you the way you allow them to. Think positive stay strong. I...

Are you running a good grade motor oil, have you been adding any type of oil additives into the oil? I like to run the best grade motor oil I can find. I Put mobil 1 10,000 mile motor oil in my wife's lincoln ls and all the noises went away. I don''t no if it was a sticky lifter or what, but...

Good to hear that all your hard work and diligence has come to fruition. Yeah 40 to 45 is a little to slow for 4th gear, but since most of your trip will be at highway speeds. you'll be lovin it. Glad to hear everything turned out so good. Thanks for all the great posts, and for taking us along...

what route does outside hot air comes into the cabin?

It seemingly is looking more and more to me that we may be in a battle between good versus evil. We already know that good always triumphs over evil. It's comforting to be on the right side of the battle. Where I live now I have access to Canyon Lake a private gate guarded city completely...

Please don't depress me with San Francisco or California. Sept. 15 is the recall election for Gov. Newsom . Larry Elder is leading by double digits. We may all be driving electric vehicles if Biden and Newsom get their way. Might be moving to a free state soon. My two brothers live in your state...

That looks like a good idea! Now if I could just find a long enough extension cord to drive around town.

what route does outside hot air comes into the cabin?

The humidity is what will get ya! When I stepped off a turbo propped plane flying into Fort Polk, I didn't think I could breath and live there, it was so humid. After having a drill sgt. in your grill, for some reason the humidity didn't seem to bother you anymore.

what route does outside hot air comes into the cabin?

I like my heater core, comes in real handy in the winter. I lived in Louisiana for 6 months at Fort Polk. 3 months basic training 3 months Infantry training. Nice country. You can make your own block off plate, does not need to be the exact shape. just block off the holes. Seal around the plate...

Looks like you answered your own question, seal up the holes on your firewall should help a lot. I have never seen a CUCV like that before. That is quite a plumbing job on that fuel filter.

It is amazing once you have confidence in yourself and your abilities, how you can learn to do just about anything you set your mind and will on to accomplish.

Believe me when I first started out I can remember counting the the dashes on a tape measure and taking a few minutes to figure out the correct measurement. Nothing like on the job experience.

I Think I could turn you into a good carpenter. You have good auto mechanical skills, I am sure you would have good mechanical carpentry skills.

Looks great, perfect fit, you did great! Happy Days! Your measurements are only as good as the person holding the other end of the tape.
