Just won the bid on a M35A2C at Tinker

Fingers crossed, I hope I just need to top of the fluids, do a safety inspection and find that it is good to drive home. As my first one, I wanted one that was in good shape and could be enjoyed. :driver:

Just won the bid on a M35A2C at Tinker

RE One trip registration, Texas has something similar, I will have to see if I can access online or have to goto the DMV for it. I assume if I get a TX registration, driving it out of OK will be okay, just want to be totally legal, what ever my end solution.

What did you win? June 16, 2011

Agree, I have pulled 7000lbs without trailer breaks without issue, but 13000 plus trailer, made both my brother and I remove that option from Plan A. :) I will do a search on the GTA. My memory is picture based, so any kind of video or picture based training is 100 times easier for me to...

What did you win? June 16, 2011

Wow, that was quick! I don't have access to anyone that is familiar with the inner workings of a Deuce. This is more of a learning experience for myself. Saw them as a kid, always thought they looked cool and wanted one. Brother is very knowledgeable on all things mechanical, and helped a...

Just won the bid on a M35A2C at Tinker

I downloaded all the manuals last night and will start reading them today. Looks like there is a manual specifically addressing inspection of the truck. It seems that in my searches, some people recommend always towing/trailering the deuce home even if it is drivable? Assuming the truck looks...

What did you win? June 16, 2011

Just out of curiosity, any idea why it was on the auction block two times? I downloaded all the manuals last night and will start reading them today. Looks like there is a manual specifically addressing inspection of the truck. I also have a second question. It seems that in my searches...

What did you win? June 16, 2011

Looks like I bought a M35A2C. I have wanted to buy a deuce for a while and ended up making a spontaneous buy. I probably over paid a little, but it looks like a very clean truck, so I made the leap and didn't look back. I'm sure I will have tons of newbie questions, but will see what I can find...

    Xtreme 4X4 Deuce bobbed(Spike TV)

Wow, a lot of negative views. I really like Xtreme 4x4 because it gives me ideas. It isn't that I would do them all, but it shows me what you could do. I see Robr's bobbed deuce the same way. It isn't that I would do everything Rob is doing to his, but I see several good ideas, several that...

To Bob or not To Bob?

That is kind of my thought. To me the 6x6 is one of the things that is so cool about the Deuce. I am probably going to add bolt on improvements like singles, maybe lockers and the like if I can get around my present HOA issues, so I guess I am not a purest. As for what someone does with their...

    Where to buy a Deuce

That is an interesting idea. What if I asked the HOA for a letter of exemption: I could say that: "I was considering a 4x4 M35 project truck rated at 5/4 tons but would really like to purchase an already restored Deuce that is rated at 2.5 tons. I know I can park and store the registered 5/4...

    Where to buy a Deuce

I think I am out of luck (HOA): 6.6 Uses Specifically Prohibited (c) Trucks with tonnage in excess of one and one-half (1.5) tons and any commercial vehicle with painted advertisement shall not be permitted to park overnight on the Property except those used by a builder during the construction...

    Where to buy a Deuce

It is basically one lady causing the problem, the HOA management company never had an issue until she started complaining. Funny thing is that i pointed out that I could see her Sat. dish from the street to counter her issue with my boat, so she moved her dish. Then she found out that Federal...

    Where to buy a Deuce

Wow, I really appreciate the responses I have received on my question and especially the offer to drive one from Sti-nkr. Looks like I may need to do a little more research or at least build bigger fences at my house. I pulled out my HOA restrictions (which I forgot to bring with me) and it has...

    Where to buy a Deuce

I have thought about GL, but still researching. A lot of responses in my searches have suggested buying a titled deuce from members or one of the resellers was a better way to go if I only wanted to buy one truck. Ft Bliss is in El Paso, that is very far from DFW (across most of Texas.) On...

    Where to buy a Deuce

I am located in Dallas, TX, and was thinking of entering the hobby. I know this has been discussed, but wanted to know if the "fully serviced" version from Boyce is the best starting point for a new purchase? Obviously if a long time trusted member of SS was offering his like new Deuce for a...
