Hi
If you lived up north my first question would be is the gas fresh? I've learned that if any of my trucks runs rough in the spring is don't fix anything until they are running fresh fuel.
Back to your problem please keep us posted on what makes the problem go away.
Cheers Phil
Its all about thinking ahead
Hi
Back before SteelSoldiers forum and the possibility of reaching out for help on the internet, many of us with larger trucks 10,000 Lbs and larger were pretty much on our own. So a common practice was to cultivate local wrecker service AKA Joe the Tow, use them...

Here are the pages from the Guide books The Observer's Military Vehicles Directory From 1945, (1972) and Historic Military Vehicles Directory (1989) have not found the article in Wheels and Tracks yet not listed on the cover indexes, will have to look through...
According to Bart Vandervee's books
Hi Gil
Love trucks that are different, according to Bart Vanderveen's military vehicle refference books it has "Dodge T137 3770-cc sv" and that it is based on " Chrysler (Dodge) Power Wagon mechanical components." I'll scan in the short descriptions and...
I verify my coverage every year before renewing
Hi
This pretty much hits the nail on the head, be it AAA, Hagerty, or any other towing/road side assistance insurance, tell them up front when you purchase the insurance & the towing rider what exactly they are covering. When you call for...

Hi
How about using one of these (set to cooler not to freezer) and the Cool Shirts they use in racing? Or would the thermal load from cooling a person be more than they could handle?
Cheers Phil
Hi Bob
Like your force analysis with the card board pin model. Agree that as the force passes directly through a pivot point it will not work. A two piston approach might over come this.

Awaiting the best spring source with aching shoulder
Hi Rusty
This and its precursor thread are great, I've read each installment and await the source of the perfect springs. I have a modified M35 dropside cargo bed on my CMP 3 ton. The dropsides make the truck just so useful.
When I got...
Hi
Push a tennis ball into the trumpet of your air horn, makes a good mute for a short toot. Very pleasant sound. If a more definitive warning is needed just hold the horn for a long blast. After a moment there will be a pop as the tennis ball is fired as a visual warning along with loud...
Hi
These are two great videos.
The vibration detection iPhone app is one of the best excuses for an iPhone. Who will be the first in the group to get the app, want a consumer report using it on an MVs.
Cheers Phil
OK- Your making me feel like a real dinosaur, I joined 1980-81 when it was known as MVCC not becoming MVPA until 1990. See history at https://www.mvpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/HistoryTimelineDoc.pdf
I'm still driving the HUP that I had back when I joined. But now it has two big...
Source I have used in the past for axles
Hi
Thanks for posting the link to the video really interesting. Old line shops like that are gems, because they can work on old stuff that is not in thier computer.
Years ago I broke axle on one of my Canadain Military Pattern trucks, which are...
Obvious but not always mentioned
Hi
Something not mentioned in discussions of the "Death Wobble"s is that when ever you get into the speed, bumb, or what ever causes them on road, the truck is litterally beating it's self to do death. Even a minor shimmy is causeing wear through out the...
