Gotcha, I was hoping for a solution like this but for people who don't have the locking door handles. Oddly I only want to be able to lock the door from the inside but not the outside. I'm sure there is a way.
I have hard doors and a soft top. I do like the combination, it looks good and I have no functional issues. I've thought about doing a hard top but I don't think it will have much of a benefit unless I do the full conversion with a turret, which as MarkM mentioned will run 8-10K. That's way too...
Just an update: The first door I fixed with epoxy had some failures. Seems like the expansion/contraction rate of the expoxy is much different than the door. I was able to redo that door with the bondo and its all fixed now.
The other door that I originally fixed with bondo is holding up great...
I used prestone green when I replaced my water pump. In for answers.

Perhaps on materials like wood or fiberglass where there is a grain. I'd be interested to see if there is a source proving that to be true for a homogenous material like aluminum.

I'm not an engineer, but I think that depends on the definition of "strength." I think a laminated material would have more flexibility and less prone to crack. But I don't think the tensile strength or compressive strength would be any higher.
