I had the same problem with the parking brake binding on my sprag truck.
The parking brake was adjusted properly.
I solved the problem by doing the PM I'd been skipping.... a broke out the grease gun and gave all the zerks on the parking brake a pump or two of grease and the problem went away!
I'm considering putting HEMTT wheels on one of my bobbed trucks, using one of the flat plate adpaters being manufactured by various steelsoldiers memebers (haven't decided which one yet).
Keeping in mind I've not closely looked at how the HEMTT wheels are assembled, but why couldn't you press...
I drive my bobbed deuce almost every day, it's my "work" car and weekend goofing-off truck.
I just couldn't enjoy a stock deuce the same way.
I'm all for a stock deuce, but you just can have more fun in a bobbed one!
Oh, and by the way, I like to see that A3 in arctic cammo!

XM381
I've started a website, although not completely finished yet, that has a lot of the info you're looking for:
www.xm381.com
As I go along, I'll add more stuff to the site.
Since I'm still doing website testing.... You should see a "menu" at the top of the page with all the pages on the site...
There is another thread going regarding transmission oil, and it points out that the current Lubrication Order doesn't specify GL-1 it says use MIL-L-2105 80w/90.
Castrol EPX gear oils are MIL-L-2105 spec, I'm sure many others are too.
So even the military is discontinuing GL-1.

When I started this post the point I was trying to make was that, while GL-1 spec gear oil is a fine lubricant, it was chosen because of availability in the supply line and a good choice at that time.
Move forward a few decades and there are newer spec oils with improved properties...
That's the thing, the transfer case has yellow metal syncros too. Meritor specifically warns not to use a GL-5 gear lube because it will eat yellow metal.
Motor oil doesn't have the sulfur based additives that attack copper alloys but it does have lots of corrosion inhibitors.
Many manual...
I don't like GL-1 gear oil and wanted something "better" in my transfer case and transmission.
GL-1 is hard to find, and finding one with a corrosion inhibitor is even harder!
So I called my local HD truck driveline shop, Blumenthal's. They gave me the tech support phone number to Meritor...
I got them off E-Bay.
There are several companies that customize new semi trucks for a living and sell the leftover bits on E-Bay.
The things to remember are:
You'll have to fabricate mounts for just about any seat, most likely nothing will bolt right in.
The cab of a Deuce is actually...
I used ones like these:
Amber LED 30cm Waterproof strip Honda Ribbon Flexible : eBay Motors (item 170379840824 end time Mar-04-10 10:43:16 PST)
They are 12 volt, so you have to use a resistor to drop the voltage.

Howdy All,
Ok, I admit it, I've got no new technical innovations!
But; I'm just about done with my current Bobbed Deuce project and want to see what you guys think of it. In particular, what do you think could be done better and what have I overlooked.
This truck is one that StreeBikeDepot...
I've got some rubber matting, similar to mudflap material, that I had considered using.
I was hoping that someone had found a "seal" similar to what is used where the turbo exhaust stack goes through the fender.
I did some searching, but I have no idea what they call that kind of exhaust seal...
