Military truck enthusiasts a tough crowd? I would have never imagined...
Why on your website do you demand a $200 core charge on your unit in exchange for “an undamaged” Neihoff dual voltage alternator?
Leece NeVille is not spelled with an “s” in place of the “c”.
Drop the price to $250...
Well, all I can say is it is the same as mine. Not sure if supposed to or not. Would guess no, but both yours and mine are name brand and relatively new.
We do appreciate ingenuity, but the price point is not effective at this location, that's all. Almost all of us can fit 2 alternators on our engine accessory drives if we want/need to, so for us, you would need to come in at just over the price of 2 Chinese Delco clones, or about $250 for your...
Yes it is caused by the mechanical lift pump on the side of the block, but in my case, my old one was quiet, and my new genuine name brand replacement ticked at the tank, so.......
Chinese Delco clones can be had new for about $90 in 70amp 24v rating, J-180 mount, 1 year warranty. I’ve never seen an air filter on an alternator, it likely greatly restricts cooling flow since the fan does not pull strongly. His setup is convienent, but pricy. I just draw off one battery...
I don’t mean to be such a Negative Nancy. I think the idea is simplistically great, and we should always encourage innovation. The market will decide the price point, as with anything in life. I hope it takes off for you.
While I think most people here are going to pass on $1,200 for 2 old technology Delco clones mushed together with inadequate cooling, here is an example shot of yesterday vs today alternator technology. This is the stator from a 250 amp 12v automotive alternator. Uses square wire so no air...
Yes, you use the bolts to lock up the clutch so it is engaged all the time. Today’s newer trucks use air logic, but in reverse as fail-safe. The fan clutch is engaged without air pressure, and it takes air pressure to release it.
I run 2 group 31 conventional semi-truck batteries on my 8.3 in MI. It starts great, even down to negative temperatures. They are very low cost, and free up a bunch of room. Batteries more than 5 years old should be replaced even if it seems they crank OK. The 8.3L fuel stop solenoid is weak...
They are not the same shaft diameter, plus the stock pulley is junk. Stock shaft diameter is smaller than civilian, stock shaft is keyed which is obsolete and not durable. Most all common civilian heavy truck alternators use a 7/8” shaft diameter, which is 0.875”, including the Delco’s and...
I know, you and a lot of others also. Thanks for being patient. I’m heading to PA to pick up the second scissor type dump hoist I bought for $200. I have several 24v hydraulic pumps and tanks from forklifts my work was scrapping, so with that and 2 batteries onboard, it will be...
Here is some pricing, from a nearly same written article, but different location. I believe Wolverine has been a member here for a long while with positive feedback and a good reputation. Looks like in excess of $1200.

Sounds great. We look forward to your offerings. Folks here are very budget minded on a personal finance level, hence the reason we buy government discards.
Sorry, I don't have any knowledge of Neihoff products, my exposure is only with high volume mass production components, mainly for US...
