I think the mil one of 25GPM or so is at 1800 engine rpm, not 1000rpm so I think this is near same in flow? The mil 925 hydro winch is pressure relieved at 1800psi.
In the basement. I don’t have access to a 250 engine, so I can’t do it. Pump mounts with only 2 bolts on its own pedestal, so should not be terribly difficult?
I’ll measure the pulley diameter tomorrow once back at work. I bought this to increase cranking load on an engine for starter testing. I don’t think there was a 24v clutch coil option from Munice on the clutch, but whoever makes the clutch likely offers one. Clutch is a fixed load, so could...
Just wanted to post some info for anybody wanting to add hydraulics to a truck that does not have such. This pump can be had with 8 rib serpentine or double V belt clutch. Muncie brand, all cast iron. Rated at 11 GPM @ 1000rpm, near equivalent to a 925 I believe. Easy 2 bolt mount, ports are...
So the wife, kids, and I, were putting our fresh cut Christmas tree up this past weekend. We're at the part where we are setting up the Lionel train underneath, and there is something wrong with the motor in the locomotive. I pick the engine up, flip it over, and I'm looking at the wheels...
Looking for proper amount to raise M925A2 cargo bed when converting to 16.00 XZL tires. Would assume 2", since radius profile difference from 14.00 to 16.00 tire is 2", but looking for any known cases where a 2" raised bed still kissed a 16.00 tire in full articulation with no bed load...
I just see a cross bar getting bent, and never being able to remove it again unless cut and remake. Not a big deal, but would rather not have it there. I’m going to make a large version of this, without the side attachment holes, those will instead run fore and aft, or just fore for the truck...
Engineer answer: Only the weight of the empty bed.
This is good for generating ideas. Thanks. I’m going to go with a non-cross-bar arrangement due to my rear winch cable payout. Between what I have seen here and Google images of others, I think I am so far going to mill the top off of a...
Thanks.
tobyS, the top frame rail width is 3". If you are proposing each hinge 8" wide, is this then a plate 8" wide welded to the bed frame rail with the end tube pieces, and then a 4" wide plate attached to the truck frame, with the hinge center tube?
FYI, the stock wood height is 1", so...
2” taller than the wood in there now. A 16.00 tire should be 2” taller across each radius than a 14.00 tire (4” total larger diameter). So, from axle center to top of tire should be 2” more than now. With this, I am assuming raise the bed 2” additional, and 16.00’s won’t rub the bed bottom in...
Correct. I already have a second 20k Garwood hydro winch, same as the front. So, plan is to remove the bed, set the winch in place at rear between the frame rails, add 2” thicker bed spacer wood, set bed back down, install rear hinges, then install the lift cylinders. Add 16.00 tires and...
All good info. Keep talking. Brass bushing? Brass pin? I don’t plan to haul much, just doing this for the novelty because I like hydraulics and to cut/weld steel, but wanting it to work with weight if needed.
Cool you have owned your truck that long. Pic looks great, must sleep inside...
I’m liking this more and more. So each hinge ends up being 8” wide? How wide is the frame rail top flange, and then you would center the hinge on that? Like the idea of position and secure them with a long rod connecting both first, then cut them each down to length, for alignment. Would...
Shear strength of a single 1” bolt is high, then double for 2. Not surprised it is holding up for him. That’s great news, thanks for the story. If you can get any pics, thanks.
I’m going to leave my knocked out rear window. It will be the only 13 speed M939 with no rear window. I’d...
Thanks. How wide for each one? I’m planning on a rear winch, so don’t want a bar that goes all the way across the back. Would rather 2 single hinges, but I think this is what you are proposing also.
