I have an oil leak and it is coming from the open hole at the rear of the oil pan. It is a threaded hole. Am I missing a plug? Is this a vent hole? And last but not least could I have a rear main seal leak? Thanks guys!
I finally got around to replacing the gaskets. I did not pull the bearings, they still had a lot of grease in them so I just pumped some more grease in them with the gun and buttoned it back up with the new gaskets. The gaskets were a perfect fit......AND CHEAP. Thank you!
Like Simp I drive my M925A2 a LOT but it is working pulling a load regionally. 100-300 miles 1 way multiple times a month. In the winter it sits a bit more but still gets driven.
It is a pain to pull the bearings and repack them but worth it. You will need the 2 axle nut sockets. Use either blue marine grease or red n Tacky. There are videos on YouTube to walk you through it.
First thing I would recommend you to do is pull all the wheel bearing and re-pack them! It is very common that at least one has been put in DRY. I found out the hard way! Then go through and replace all the filters and fluids. Just a tip to save you a massive headache down the road.
Fyi those solenoids SUCK! You can completely remove it and just use the emergency shut off to shut down the truck. They are over $100 plus shipping and prone to failure. I removed mine and it has been off for over 6 months. No issues. I actually like it better this way.
My M322 trailer is starting to leak slightly around the axle flange gaskets. I figure it is time to re-pack the bearings. Does anyone know the part number for the gaskets and would Napa have them? It is a Terex trailer so I thought that they might. Thanks
What is the normal operating EGT of these trucks and what is the max sustained EGT before getting too hot and damaging the motor? I have the gauges, just need to install them.
I finally fixed mine. I had no idea how bad the muffler was. Rotten all over. So much quieter now and have the stack on. Putting a pop cap on it to keep the water to a minimum to prevent a repeat.
Mine rolls at 60 at WOT fully loaded, it is just slow as molasses on a cold winter morning on hills. I really want to just be able to run 65 with a 70 sprint. Honestly, my goal is not only to get to where I am going faster but to hug the rear of another truck and let them push the wind and...
I am getting the itch to buy a M931A2. Does anyone know the towing specs on this truck and will civilian trailers mate up with it? I need a lowboy 40 foot trailer behind it. Thanks guys.
