Crimping is much more of a Science than most realize. There is a good video on Youtube going in to the physics and flowing the copper etc. Changed the way I crimp my connections. Got the RIGHT tools. Lots of pseudo tools that sorta work out there.
I am eliminating the air over hydraulic pump. It is just too prone to failure.
One wonders why there is no check valve on the brass filter to prevent ingress of h2o.
When my cab was stuck in the open position I believe I ran two hydraulic lines to the ram from the hand pump. I flipped the leaver back and forth on the pump with the pump pressure to get it to break free.
Looking at the lower connection, I wonder if the non-standard fitting could be changed out to accommodate a flex hose of sorts.
Has anyone talked to CAT directly about this issue?
Look closely at the where water would end up being sprayed, even if just driving in a rain storm.
